Scouting the Red Wings

This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Kings and the Detroit Red Wings. So far, the Red Wings have won the first three, 4-1 on Nov. 19 in Los Angeles, 8-2 on Dec. 17 in Detroit and 4-3 last Friday in Detroit. The Red Wings are expected to regain the services of goalie Jimmy Howard, who missed the previous three games because of a groin injury. The Red Wings did some line-combination shuffling at today’s morning skate, among their second, third and fourth lines and had different centers on each line, most notably with rookie Gustav Nyquist moving up to center Johan Franzen and Danny Cleary. It remains to be seen if coach Mike Babcock will stick with those changes in the game tonight. For the latest on the Red Wings, check out the coverage from the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News, followed by the possible lineups for the Kings and the Red Wings…
