Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…
(on the win…)
SUTTER: “We’ve had a tough haul here. We’ve had 14 road games in our last 18 games, so I’m sure the members of the media that are traveling with us will tell you how fatigued they are.’’
(on the long shootout…)
SUTTER: “I was hoping it would end a little sooner.’’
(on Quick’s effort…)
SUTTER: “He’s trying to bounce back. Obviously both of those kids have had pretty good years, and Quicker has struggled a little bit lately, but the last game that we won, he won it in Nashville. It was funny. I was telling Tony Esposito before the game — he came down to say hi — and he always said that the best goalies in the league can win 1-0 and 8-7 games, and they’re always the first stars. That’s classic, right? The guy who is struggling, who is your No. 1 goalies, goes out and, in a lot of ways, he wins you the game. You line up against Kane and Sharp and Hossa…’’
(on the game…)
SUTTER: “It’s a tough building, a good team. How many games have they lost here? Pretty good hockey club.’’
