Hunter assigned to Manchester

Trent Hunter has officially been assigned to Manchester of the American Hockey League. There isn’t any corresponding roster move, because Jarret Stoll is not yet ready to come off the injured-reserve list. Barring any setbacks for Stoll, that will probably take place Tuesday. Hunter had two goals and five assists in 38 games with the Kings this season.

    Hopefully he can help them, don’t think they have won since losing King or Nolan ..

    Don’t feel bad for him. He’s still gonna get the rest of his 600k salary and if he works hard this coming offseason and gets his legs back, he could get another tryout with another NHL team next season.

    This just in… Trent Hunter on IR with ‘concussion-like’ symptoms. Cause? Severe Ego-Whiplash.

    @wavesinair,

    Hmmmmmmm. Very Moreau-like, eh?

    But, I think Hunter will show and work hard to make it back. Any news on what Moreau is making up next?

    @Kingsfanone,

    I certainly hope Hunter shows up….like for tomorrows game at 3pm. Monarchs indicated a week or 2 ago that Moreau will not play at all this season. Many, many Monarchs fans are discusted with Moreau and really don’t believe the whole concussion excuse.

    @wavesinair, I don’t think Trent will get a concussion from an ego-whiplash. As he is only 31, he can still play in the NHL for a few more seasons. Ethan was basically at the end of his line when he was assigned to Manchester at 36.

    @Kissmyblarneystones, He didn’t work out as nobody is scoring. He would look a lot better, as would have Moreau, if the Kings didn’t have all the problems offensively this season. Guys that should take the blame for our lack of scoring are Penner, Stoll, Williams and Brown. While Williams and Brown have scored some, we need more. Penner and Stoll affected us big time. If they had scored what was expected based on past seasons, we would be fine.

    @Jeff_R, Y’know, it’s really the lack of goalscoring from the Kings ‘elite’ forwards (and defensemen) that has put the focus on any and everybody else on the team!

    Well, he tried. He just didn’t have it in him, but he tried.

    I hope he goes to Manchester and works hard. If a late season injury hits, he could be very useful.
