The Florida Panthers entered last night’s game on a two-game losing streak, after losses to Tampa Bay and Washington in which they allowed six and four goals, respectively. The Panthers had held the opposition to one goal in only once in their previous 10 games. Make that twice in their last 11. The Panthers, overall, haven’t been a shut-down defensive team, but they held the Kings to a total of three goals in six periods this season, and earned a split of the two-game season series. The Panthers also held the Kings to a total of 49 shots on goal in the two games. Here’s how the Miami Herald and the Sun-Sentinel covered last night’s game…

Florida Panthers beat L.A. 3-1 and jump back into first place (Sun-Sentinel)
