@Kingsfanone,
LMAO!!!
FYI, the guy who did the voice for the robot passed away earlier this week.
He looked good on TV, but there he sure looked tired and has he always kind of had the druppy mouth well talking??
[Reply]
He’s no Fraser
[Reply]
Soo relieved to be picked that high, you’ve earned it Quick! Time to show the rest of the hockey world, and especially that **** JVR, that you are a top 3 goalie in this league!!

@tornado12, Said he was suprized to see JQ get picked as high as he did. And that someone must know something else about JQ then what he knows…

@pr0cess, Sounds to me like an obvious intelligence failure on his part.
The speed at which a goalie speaks is inversely proportionate to the ‘quickness’ of his glove.
Jonny’s gotta quick glove.

@wavesinair, Maybe another way to put it is that all of Quick’s energy is saved for his glove hand.
Probably comes in handy at other times in his life when swatting flies or flippin’ pancakes for Dustin.
Seriously though, JQ got some serious, mad respect from his peers at this draft. Alfie and Hank are no slouches and to pick him so quickly tells me the other side wanted him as well. Just look at all the people he was picked before! Pretty amazing.
Now what I am hoping for is a Tim Thomas/Jonathon Quick matchup during the game. Could you imagine those 2 going at it during one period of an all-star game and possibly stoning everyone? Honestly, how cool would that be? It would make the all-star game a bit more fun to watch anyway. Hope it happens.

@wavesinair,
he has lived up to his name on the ice, hasn’t he…?!

My Gosh man! He is work’n so hard right now. Too bad he’s not resting like the rest of the team!

@Dominick,
i’m sure that there’s plenty of downtime, now that his done traveling…
all the all-star game activities prior to the game are not so intense…and probably allow him to “work” in a relaxed environment…
but he does have to be “on” most of the time, so it’s different, than just being on a beach, that’s fo’ sure…(!)

@variable, Not to mention the extra travel and the apparent “vertigo” danger inherent in the ALG.

@Dominick, I think Quick is one of those pathologically competitive guys that trys to beat everyone at everything 24/7. He may be trying to look like he’s relaxing and having a good time, but I bet in that mind of his he is visualizing stoneing everyone on Chara’s roster.
[Reply]
JQ is definitely looking more mature. He has always looked like a kid, but with the kids and now the full time starting spot, you can see that he is growing up. He has ice in his veins.

@DesertKing, Also looks like he took the cap off the super glue mouth and some got on the right corner of his lip. When he talks, it’s like the corner’s stuck together.

DesertKing Reply:

@Dominick,
I think he is in energy saving mode. He just stores it all up so he can release it in huge amounts instantaneously and make incredible saves. That, or he is from Conneticut where they talk funny.

I hope Quick gets a lot of ice time. Sometimes they split it 20 20 20, but don’t they use some guys more sometimes.

Rich, I highly suggest you post this one! Found on Puck Daddy this morning, features the guys from Funny or Die with Kopi, Ricky, Greener, and Dewey.

That was weird but wonderful, It’s the first time I can recall hearing Jonathan Quick say “I.” Good for him!
[Reply]
from ESPNcom… pretty funny by our humble all-star:
Datsyuk wasn’t the only one surprised during the draft. Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was the first goalie taken by Team Alfredsson, which caught him off guard. “It’s all part of their strategy — they were trying to get mediocre goalies off the board early,” Quick said. “I know Alfie scored on me the other night. Maybe that pushed him over the edge.”
[Reply]
I was at his high school yesterday, it’s always fun to look at the photos of him on the ice and team shots and wonder what his dreams were back then.
[Reply]
so Quick is slotted for the fastest skater against Howard.
[Reply]
Quick is in the fastest skater competition..loll…is that going to be with or without pads? Loll
[Reply]
Which period will he play? I predict the 3rd. Lundquist 1st, and Elliott 2nd.
[Reply]
Is it me or is Quick looking thinner these days?
