There’s no NFL in Los Angeles, but Jack Johnson brought “Tebowing” to Staples Center tonight. After his second-period goal against Washington, Johnson mimicked the post-touchdown celebration of Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
“Hey, you have some fun while you’re scoring,’’ Johnson said. “It’s fun to score, so you might as well have some fun. I was watching the Broncos game with some buddies who flew in from Michigan. They said, `If you score, you’ve got to Tebow.’ I said, `OK, you’re on.’’’
And had he heard anything about the celebration from old-school coach Darryl Sutter?
“No, I haven’t heard anything,’’ Johnson said.
Sutter didn’t seem to mind.
“If we could all play like Tebow in a big game, we wouldn’t have lost a game yet,” Sutter said.
