How have things changed for the Kings under Darryl Sutter? Here’s a subtle one. After a game, the job of writing the next day’s practice schedule on the whiteboard is usually that of Marshall Dickerson, director of team operations. Last night, in Sutter’s writing, was the practice time (11 a.m.) along with a note: “39 hours until game time.’’ The sweat on the equipment wasn’t yet dry, but Sutter already wanted to start his players thinking about Saturday afternoon’s game. But, looking back for a moment, the Kings picked up an important win over Phoenix last night, in a game that probably won’t be fondly remembered for its excitement level.
