Sutter chatted with Murray

Darryl Sutter didn’t want to get into details, but recently he had a telephone chat with his predecessor, Terry Murray. It wouldn’t be uncommon for the two men to chat, given that they’re both former players and have crossed paths within the coaching fraternity over the past two decades. Sutter declined to discuss, though, the nature and context of their conversation.

SUTTER: “We’ve been coached a long time. It’s part of the business. He’s a good coach, good man.’’

Question: Were you trying to pick his brain about the team at all?

SUTTER: “I don’t really want to go there. It’s a respect thing. At the end of the day, there is a fraternity there, of guys that have coached a long time. We’ve kind of seen the whole deal.’’
