Tonight’s game is the second of four meetings this season between the Kings and the Colorado Avalanche, following Colorado’s 3-2 victory in Denver on Oct. 30. The Avalanche had a 14-17-1 record in mid-December, but now have a 7-1-0 record in their last eight and have climbed to the edge of claiming a playoff position in the Western Conference. In goal, Colorado is expected to start Semyon Varlamov, who has allowed two goals in each of his last two starts.
