Can the Kings sustain momentum? They’re 4-0-2 under new coach Darryl Sutter, but it’s not surprising to see a spike in success under a new coach. The question is, can the Kings maintain it, especially against a Colorado team that has been surging, with a 7-1-0 record in their last eight games. Drew Doughty said he’s not overly concerned about a dip in effort and execution.
DOUGHTY: “I don’t think (Sutter is) going to allow that to happen. Before the game, the most important things to him are being prepared for the game, being focused and treating every game like it’s a big game for us. I think, because he pushes that so hard, and is always telling us to be hard on pucks and working hard on our game, I think we’re all listening to him right now and it will continue to stay that way.’’
Doughty added that, in general, he appreciates what Sutter has brought to the Kings so far.
DOUGHTY: “He’s good. He’s hard on us, but at the same time he always has a positive too. I think all of us in here like him a lot. He’s definitely a lot different than our previous coach, and I think it was a good change for us.’’
