Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on scoring his first goal in 18 games…)
KOPITAR: “It was big. Always, when you go through struggles like that, it always feels good when you get it off your back. No better place and time to do it, I guess, than against Vancouver too. So, it was a huge win for us, and we needed those two points to end this year on a good note.’’
(on his scoring play…)
KOPITAR: “It was a quick 3-on-2. Willy [Justin Williams] made a great play on the blue line. I was able to stay onside and I kind of made up my mind, before, that I was going to go to my backhand. Luckily I stretched it out pretty long and was able to put it in.’’
(on the momentum swing, from the penalty kill to his goal…)
KOPITAR: “We had a minute and 40 on the 4-on-3, or whatever it was, and then coming right back and scoring a goal, it’s huge. I thought, overall, the second period tonight was good for us. That’s what we have to build on, and play like that.’’
(on what is says, to beat Vancouver…)
KOPITAR: “It says we have a lot of character, and we can definitely do it. Now it’s just a matter of doing it night in and night out. That’s what Darryl is pushing for us, and we have to recognize it and build on this win and get going.’’
This seems like a new team, I love what DS has done so far!

lol…I actually had a dream about the Kings and Kopitar…In the dream I tell Kopitar: “You need to love the work. The grinding and being out there more than anything. Then one day the scoring will come, and if it doesnt, you still need to love the work, work work…Because you do a lot more than scoring…”
I loved Kopi, Loktionov and Voynov this game…I guess this coach is allowing some players to spread their wings a little bit!

So proud of our Kings. I was a doubter with DS but now, I am not ashamed to admit that I am totally buying into his style of coaching. It seems the players are doing the same. LOVE his in-game, bench daddy attitude – talking, touching and plain communicating with players.
Kopi – hope this is the start of your getting some rewards for working so hard always. You are our best all around player.
So, sweet that we quieted down those loud Vancouver fans too. All around a great start of a New Year!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Any one notice how he pronounced his name in Slovenian at the beginning? Sounds more like Ko-Peter than Kop-i-tar.

@Big Rob in Dallas, hehe kopetar, no no the difference is in the letter o and how we pronounce it, but I’m starting to sound like you guys in the states, hearing his name pr. like that all the time. I guess he has the same problem as well. The same thing when saying Kopi, so there you go.
