THIRD PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick against Niemi.
End of period: The Sharks outshot the Kings 34-26 in regulation (including 14-9 in the third period).

SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick against Niemi.
Sharks 1, Kings 0: San Jose took the lead 7:53 into the second period. Ryane Clowe battled in the corner of the Kings’ zone, then pushed the puck to the inside of the left circle, to Logan Couture, who quickly fired a high shot past Quick. Patrick Marleau also got an assist.
Kings 1, Sharks 1: The Kings tied the game with a power-play goal with 1:08 remaining in the second period. Mike Richards sent the puck behind the net, and Anze Kopitar picked it up in the corner. Kopitar then sent a cross-ice pass back to Richards in the right circle. Richards settled the puck with his skate, then beat Niemi with a wrist shot to the far post. Drew Doughty also got an assist on Richards’ team-high 13th goal of the season. The Kings had scored just one power-play goal in their previous eight games.
End of period: The Sharks outshot the Kings 15-10 in the second period.

FIRST PERIOD
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Sharks’ Antti Niemi.
Lineup: Trent Hunter replaces Kevin Westgarth in the Kings’ lineup tonight.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Sharks 7-5 in the first period, and both goalies were sharp, with a handful of goal-saving stops between them. The Kings went 0-for-1 on the power play (with zero shots on goal) and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
