Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the win…)
BROWN: “It’s important that we got two points. For everyone in (the locker room), it’s been a long road trip, not only with the travel but with everything that has gone on. We’re going home 2-2, and whatever happens with the coach, you probably know more than I do. So, we’ll get back, we refocus and we get ready to go again.’’
(on rebounding from the loss in Detroit…)
BROWN: “You don’t want to see a game like we had in Detroit, but I said after the game in Columbus, with the way that we came back, I think this group, over the last couple years, has shown a resilience as a group. When things haven’t gone well, we’ve managed to bounce back in a good way. Tonight was maybe a micro-step of that, or a micro-image of that. It’s important for us to, again, build on this. We’re going back home, and we’ve got to refocus and get ready to go again. We were 2-2 on this road trip, with everything that’s gone on, and travel. We’ve got to get back, and whatever is going to happen with the coaching, we’ll figure that out and go.’’
Woo Hoo Brownie. Way to pick it!
And congrats to Carson_city who won RealScorz Hockey tonight with a score of 30!!!!

@petemagoop, I agree. The Richard’s trade has been one of the few positives this season.

Stevens said after the game that Richards has NOT been cleared to play. Practice, yes, which he has been doing.

Brownie played like a captain tonight.
Penner was a stud too.

@Munchrat, Brownie looked really good and I was also impressed with Doughty’s game. He didn’t score but was a defensive force out there. We has benefitted having Willie Mitchell back.

I know they only scored the standard two goals again but still this was easily the best game they have played in weeks. They were fast to the puck, taking shots, making good passes. Perhaps they feared playing badly tonight and having to come home to the rath of Darryl Sutter when they got back to LA…

Im sure Brown is not buy the ice cream tonight

@Romanello, I thought Gagne’s game was weak too.

@Duckbasher, Gagne had a phenomenal point black opportunity. I think all the kings players played really well! It was, as John Stevens said, a full team effort. All the lines rolling, cycling the puck, and creating scoring opportunities. I’m hoping we can ride this momentum into 2 huge games against the ducks and sharks later this week. Hopefully we’ll have Richards back in the line-up by friday against the sharks.

I missed the game, but it seems like Brown had a game worthy of a captain. Lead by example & lead by doing. I look forward to seeing more growth & on ice responsibility once Sutter arrives. I’m hoping for the best! I’ll always root for this team no matter what! GKG!

@Jim S.,
Lead in hits, shots, scored a goal, and the shootout winner, he was a force. Played a great game tonight.

I think its time to buy a couple more game tickets, they really put on their TRY jerseys tonight!

Gagne’s game really stuck out to me tonight. I thought he looked like a guy just going through the motions.

MONSTER GAME BY D BROWN!

I want to know who’s idea it was to start cycling the puck all of a sudden? holy cow, what a concept!!
[Reply]
Doughty’s offensive talents take a giant leap when he avoids undisciplined penalties on the defensive end. A pleasure to see his game last night.
Was this collective effort a welcome back gift to Willie Mitchell? Or the other way around?
I sure hope DL worries more about resigning WM than moving players, right now.
