Brown postgame quotes (Dec. 15)

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the win…)

BROWN: “The last week has been tough. A lot of emotions, a lot of downs and struggling through this. Tonight was a really big win for us, not only in the standings, the two points, but the way that we did it. We gave up one goal, and it’s one of those (weird) goals, but with where we’re at as a team, we didn’t let it discourage us. That says a lot about the type of players we have in the room, to not give up, to come back and grind it out. It’s a huge win.’’

(on getting goals thanks to net presence…)
BROWN: “It’s funny how the game of hockey works, really. We’ve struggled to score goals, and it’s a result of people not being around the net. We got two dirty, greasy goals tonight, and we need more guys around the net consistently. When you start to get that, other goals start to go in. We had the work. We had a good mentality. I think the important thing for this team is that this can’t be a peak. That’s got to be an everyday thing for us. It’s one of those things where, we poured everything into it, and now we’ve got to realize that we’ve got to do it again.’’
