Ethan Moreau has officially been assigned to Manchester of the AHL, to make room on the Kings’ roster for Willie Mitchell. No word yet, though, on whether Moreau has actually accepted the assignment and will report to the Monarchs.

Best of luck, Ethan. Great heart and passion, but we need wins and results. Hope he takes the AHL stint as we could use him in Manchester.

Shows you how we are not that good…….our third or forth liner is not wanted by anyone

@neil,
If he was a third our fourth liner he would still be on the team. His “tryout” is over.

@Michael J.,
How about “our third or fourth liner”?
Is that proper English?

He made my Lambs list…
Lions or Lambs? You decide.

@wavesinair, Disagree with Martinez and Kopitar being lambs. I think Martinez’s natural tendencies are to be offensive but TM has him reined in or has somehow messed with his mind because he definitely been a little more tentative this year. AM in particular but Kopi to some extent are stoic sort of emotionless players but think their efforts and hustle on the ice warrants a switch to Lion category

How can our first round(lewis)pick and a player(richardson) just signed to a two year contract. cant get in the lineup over a player no other team wants.

How come some people can only complain and never have anything positive to say?

@Michael J., It’s hard for some people to stay positive given the current direction this team is going

@neil, HA!
I don’t get why he was playing over either of those two guys. It seems that when Richie and Lewis play the puck is often in the other team’s zone, and they both draw penalties.

@neil,
Very legit point. I guess DL hoped Chopper would bring more but at 36, was this a wise signing? It appears not.
Next up, Hunter.

@neil, I was wondering the same even before season started!!!!! Why even entertain the idea of bringing him here, nobody in Manchester/Reign is hungry to be in NHL??
[Reply]
We are in a scoring drought here. I hated him as a King but as a Monarch I would welcome him with open arms. Come here and show off for your next employer. Make your case and help our kids.

@NHKingsFan,
Sounds good to me, he certainly is a veteran!
[Reply]
Yes, Hunter and Moreau had one thing on their side. Size.
That seems to be all that matters with this team.
We need skill!
Coming in at least a average size package.
What we have now is skill, but in the 5-5—5-8 category.
I see this coaching, at least, as the old school clutch and grab grinders that would have been beneficial prior to the outage. After that when you can’t impead the necessity of big guys with limited skill, such as moreau and hunter not to mention a few others on our roster, must give way to guys that have speed and skill to go along with some amount of grit.
Don’t look for Murray to be the archiect of that team.
Maybe Lombardi would like to see this, but at this point the jury is still out on his ability to pick OFFENSIVE talent. Noboy disputes his ability to find goal tenders and gritty players.
Time will tell, but if the current course dosn’t change expect some more coaching changes in southern california.
I can think of one offensive player who is right now without a job who has some coaching experience.
Can you say…………..old number 99 behind the bench?

@centericeman, man wouldn’t it just would be the coolest thing in the worlds to see Grets back in the Kings organization to me, but sounds like wishful thinkin
mb he could teach how Williams n Kopi how to do a good ol’ Gretz corkscrew

@centericeman, Please god no! Gretz was a great player but he can’t coach. And as I have said many many times, TM does not get to choose the players that are on the team.

@centericeman, 99 is not the answer for this team…maybe another team in a rebuild mode…oh wait!…your right, he’s perfect!

Does anyone knows if Kings are responsible for Moreau salary if won’t report to AHL?

wavesinair Reply:

@Kluka68,
Based on Section 14 of the SPC and 13.21 (a) of the CBA, the Kings can terminate his contract in writing if he refuses to render his services to the Monarchs.

Ethan down to Manchester – bet he doesnt take that gig – I wish he would Manch could use a guy like Ethan- think it was it just a team fit thing or individual play that got him whr he is now?
I thought Ethan didnt look too bad when he wasnt takin a useless penalty ..
hopefully all this will shake stuff up in a good way for the boys – Penners been steppin up bigtime which is something I’m surprised and happy to see wonder what lit that fire…
[Reply]
wow, no one else wanted him either! I guess if a team that it dead last in scoring doesn’t want you why would anybody else
[Reply]
Not a Moreau fan but given the fact the the Monarchs are really hurting for players right now, I’d welcome him as he can breath and skate at the same time. Paddock suspended for 4 games, Azzy hurt last night and Nolan out with the flu. Cluner is hurt but he’s playing tonight…sucking it up for the team.

you local to the Monarchs too Simarosa?
