Mitchell possible for Thursday

Willie Mitchell will miss a second consecutive tonight because of his groin injury, but Mitchell skated again today at the end of practice, and Terry Murray indicated that Mitchell might be able to play Thursday against Minnesota. Mitchell, unlike Mike Richards, was not placed on the injured-reserve list, so he will be able to play whenever he’s ready.

MURRAY: “He’s getting closer. He’s feeling better. He’s doing a lot of the cross-over skating out there right now, and shooting. So I think he’s very, very close. Just work it out, keep the therapy going and we’ll take a look at it for the next game.’’

Don’t worry, Willie…Drewiskes’ got your back.

IMO Drewiske has done a pretty good job for the Kings…It’s good to know we have some depth on defense

Free Willy! ;) Actually don’t, give him another game to be triple-sure he’s good. He’s not a spring chicken, it’s a muscle injury and we have a decent D without him..

@iansez, my sentiments exactly… take another game or 3. Make SURE it’s 100% so it doesn’t nag all season long and then rupture before the second season…

@iansez, agreed. defense is not the problem, but mitchell does bring more of a ‘shot mentality’ from the blueline than DD2

Good! I’m less on the edge of my seat when WM is on the ice. That feeling of relief when the pilot lands the plane is the same as Willi stepping on to the ice
