Boudreau: `There’s going to be a lot of hatred’

Neither of Southern California’s hockey teams is where it wants to be right now. The Kings are treading water with a 13-9-4 record, while the Anaheim Ducks are 7-14-5 and are two games into the era of Bruce Boudreau, who replaced Randy Carlyle as coach last week. The always-entertaining Boudreau spent four seasons as the coach of the Kings’ AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, and now he’s getting a taste of the other side of the rivalary. Boudreau told The Orange County Register yesterday. “I think there’s going to be a lot of hatred on both sides. When I was part of the Kings organization, they certainly didn’t like the Ducks. So now that I’m here, I certainly don’t like the Kings.’’ The Ducks are in desperate need of some positive momentum, but Terry Murray didn’t bite when asked about facing a struggling, potentially dangerous Ducks team…

MURRAY: “All I want to do is have our team play a good team game. In our game against Montreal, I felt the first period was good. We got power-play opportunities because we were moving our feet and skating, doing the right things in the offensive zone, and we were putting a lot of pucks to the net. I think we ended up with more shots in the first period than we did in the second and the third combined. As we got into the second period, we started to get away from all the good things. That’s the most important thing for me tomorrow, is to get back to an attitude where we’re playing at a high level and consistently doing the right things.’’
