Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury during the first period, the team said, and was not expected to return to Thursday’s game. Mitchell played only one shift in the first period.
Also, Mike Richards has not been on the ice or bench since the start of the third period. No update on Richards’ status has yet been provided. Richards did not return after a hit late in the second period that led to Sean Bergenheim’s roughing penalty.
Not good.

Too bad for Willie. Hope it’s not too serious.

anyone have an idea when it happened?

@Dayman, Considering he only played 1 shift, it shouldn’t be too hard for FSN to find when it happened.
[Reply]
No!! Not Willie! Hope he gets better! I like Drewiske, but his skill can’t match Mitchel. Maybe Hickey will get a call up, but my money is on Muzzin

Geeze Man! Guys wide open 10 feet away from Quick, and if it wasn’t for Quick being Quick, that would of been a goal from a pointblank full strength shot.
I love our goalie.

@Anthony,
I’ve seen him do that a couple of times befoer…

Just looked up some stats and Hickey has a plus 11 but no goals. Muzzin has 3 goals, so we will see, I hope Drewiske gets a shot to show his skill. But something tells me Muzzin will get the call up. I hope Hickey gets the call up, cause he had so much hype yet I has seen him play ZERO games..

@Ducksuck, Whiskey will get the next game if it comes down to that. Hickey, or Muzz will ride the pine. I’m confident with Whiskey, but sure hope Mitchells OK.

@HawKings, Got hit with a shoulder by Bergenheim to Richards’ head. Possible concussion.
[Reply]
Hey ref, how about calling a penalty on Florida sometime? Maybe, you know, while we still have some uninjured players…

@Bill M., yea i know

Kings sucked it up there after Richards got hit…They got absolutely no help from the refs and still kept Florida out of the dangerous areas. Richards stumbled a bit into that hit and got caught right on the chin…99% sure that is a concussion…here’s hoping he passes the baseline tests right away

WOW I live here in Florida and was just watching the post game press conference on FSN Florida. Kevin Dineen talkin trash about how were a bunch of hacks and how we couldnt handle their speed and how they badly outplayed us and how its a win in his eyes. I watched the same game and Florida got away with alot. cant wait for February!! ill be there should be a good one.

@flakingsfan, Awesome…they didn’t get two points so he can do and say whatever he wants. Maybe he will win an imaginary stanley cup along with his imaginary 2 points from tonight.

Anyone think the Fraser fight kind of changed the momentum…I know the FLA goal happened shortly after that. But I sort of thought the kings started getting some chances after that.
[Reply]
Kopitar got dragged down with about 3mins left and no penalty. WTF refs! You know that Kopitar does not complain to the refs. If he was that pissed, you know something’s up.

@soyokaze,
Even Foxy mentioned that, and one of the reasons I love Jim Fox is that he is so professional about being impartial… Made me feel justified in knowing I wasn’t the only one upset about that non-call.. 1 sided ref game… 1 win.. &^% it.. we’ll take the 2 and see them in Feb

@soyokaze,
The refs aren’t going to call anything. It’s like they have vacation homes in Florida
[Reply]
The player who hit Richards should get a suspension, he went to the head when Richards was involved with another Panther. That was weak, and since Richards is injured then got to suspend. Didn’t have the sound up, so I didn’t hear why the kings got short for four minutes, What is up with the ref letting Kopecky interfere with Quick all night. I wish a King would have laid him out. That was crap. Great win when being outplayed. Beernier had better bring his A game Saturday. Looks like DD#2 will get to play Saturday.
[Reply]
Once again, the officiating was all-around crap.
