THIRD PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Niemi.
Goal disallowed: The Kings appeared to take a three-goal lead with a 4-on-4 goal 6:03 into the third, but the goal was disallowed after a video review, as officials ruled that Slava Voynov kicked the puck into the net.
SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Niemi.
Kings 2, Sharks 0: A 4-on-4 goal gave the Kings a 2-0 lead 4:16 into the second period. Willie Mitchell pushed the puck behind the Sharks’ net, where Simon Gagne picked it up. Gagne found Mike Richards with a centering pass, and Richards beat Niemi from close range for his team-high 11th goal of the season.
FIRST PERIOD
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Sharks’ Antti Niemi.
Kings 1, Sharks 0: The Kings took the lead 8:37 into the first period with a fourth-line goal. Colin Fraser delivered a check behind the Sharks’ net, and Ethan Moreau picked up the puck and played it toward the net, but it went off the skate of San Jose’s Torrey Mitchell and into the San Jose net. The goal was unassisted.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Sharks 16-11, went 0-for-1 on the power play and did not face a penalty kill in the first period.
