Greene postgame quotes (Nov. 19)

Matt Greene’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
GREENE: “They capitalized on turnovers and we didn’t. When you play these guys, there are shifts when you’re in your zone for a little while, but tonight it was way too much. We turned pucks over and played right into their game. They had a great game. A lot of their guys were playing really well. We played right into their system like that, so they’re going to have great success.”

(on the special-teams play…)
GREENE: “They had a good power play and we could be better on penalty kills. We got to make plays out there.

(on the Red Wings…)
GREENE: “They have guys who play their system really well and as gifted as they are, they’re a really good defensive team. We turned the puck over in the neutral zone and we paid for our mistakes.”

    @Harty, oh and by the way, the bottom two lines were not taking the silly penalties that costed us early.

    @Harty, I don’t want to speak for @neil, but I think he was bringing up the point that thru 20 games our bottom 6 forwards have done nothing offensively. Now no one’s expecting them to score a goal a game or anything like that, but is a goal every 2 games that much to ask, or every 3 games? So far they are averaging 1 goal every 6.666 games, that’s pretty terrible IMO.

    @CB14, we do need more production for sure, however not sure why TM doesn’t flip it around a little as its south right now.

    fair though and if that’s Neil’s point of interest then no arguement of course, Neil has been watching these guys a long time also with great insight.

    @CB14, thanks..Yes that is what Iam talking about…20 games and no help offensivly.I know its on the players but maybe TM needs to change some of the combo’s and even put Westy back in. With Westy the Kings seemed to have more energy on the 4th line.Fraser had his one moment but now you can see why he wasnt DL’s first choice.

    @neil, Ditto that

    I’ve seen every game last year and this year, no misses!!!!!!!!!
    This was the worst effort, bounces during the game and production in two years……

    Here is the upside, everyone was bad, not that one guy costed us the game, so there is no way that can be repeated for sure.

    Stay positive gang, and the bloggers looked good in the suite.

    @Harty, I agree. We saw half a season last season at Staples and all the weekend games this season plus the game at Anaheim last Thursday with the rest on T.V. and this was the worst game I’ve seen, no energy at all. Even the crowd seemed out of it by the second period.

    @Maurice, Hate to bring up the obvious, but this was not just our 3rd game in 4 nights, it was a 3rd game in 3.5 days. No team in the league plays well consistently when it is their 3rd game in 4 nights, and with the day game today, it was less than 4 nights. No energy left in the body, and it showed. Plus you get the wings who just got blasted by SJ, and you know they are going to bring the energy, and we could not match it. Plain and simple. No reason to bash any players or coaches tonight too much. These guys get paid a lot of money to play a game, so you would think they could bring it every night, but realistically, not going to happen all the time especially in this situation I described above.
