The view from Anaheim

The Kings and Anaheim Ducks next play on Dec. 6 at Honda Center. What will the Ducks look like then? Right now, they’re in a rut, with a 2-8-4 record in the last month. They have a lot of home games upcoming, to try to right the ship, but the Kings were able to take four points from this week’s home-and-home set, while the Ducks got one. Here’s how The Orange County Register covered last night’s game, with Eric Stephens’ game story and Mark Whicker’s column…

Few bright spots for Ducks in another loss

Ducks get competitive, but hole deepens

    @Stuart,
    I’m glad to see it, because for a while there we weren’t looking so hot. I’ve mentioned before that losing streaks come, and losing streaks go, but it’s nice when they go, and you find yourself on top.

    Games played means we won’t be able to sustain 1rst place for long, but with some hard work, the Kings should be able to reach a point where the games played don’t matter. Just keep pluggin away, and the universe will unfold as it should.

    Man, I was sweating it last night… Great back to back games!

    Here’s a question in regards to last nights games. Which goal was a momentum killer for the Quacks and gave us the lead we needed for the win:

    1 – Gagne on the nice short hander making it 2-1

    2 – Kopi with the wrap giving us the 4-3 lead

    Zeley Reply:

    @KingsGame,
    Because the Ucks scored two more goals after Gagne’s short-hander, that goal was hardly a momentum killer. They couldn’t answer Kopitar’s wrap, so there’s your answer.

    @outsider, You hear the stats regarding how well the ducks do when they allow the first goal.

    The ducks played hard until Richards made the second short handed goal.

    You’re welcome Ducks…at least when the Kings are in town you draw more than 13,000 fans (even if half of them were Kings Fans!)

    BROADCOM Owners need to spend more money on their electric bills and less on hookers/drugs.

    Is it me or was doughty not playing his spot too well the last 2 games??

    KingsGuy Reply:

    @Lake Forest, Wasn’t there electric bills – it was there probe start metal halides. They take about 20 minutes to cycle.

    @Lake Forest, re DD, I thought he got boarded there in the 3rd, but no call…

    Dominick Reply:

    @Lake Forest,
    It’s just you. DD’s been awsome since coming back, and the last 2 games he’s been even more involved offensively. DD is working his way out of the funk of missing camp, starting out with the distractions of Europe, and an injury. As I said 3 weeks ago “these things won’t be issues a month from now, and everybody will worship DD again”.

    Next week my timetable will be complete.

    Made it to the game last night and while the joy of the win is hard to beat I got more enjoyment seeing that 1/2 if not more in attendance were Kings fans! I was in section 406 and it was dominated by Kings fans and the Duck fans that were there were getting ripped on big time. I heard more Kings chants then ducks and it was funny to watch the ducks fans be kind of hesitant to cheer for their team. I said to a group of about 3 duck fans near me “it must be terrible to be out numbered and get bashed by the visiting teams fans in your own arena”. They just kind of looked at me and said nothing….it was PRICELESS! Anyway….great game and ill be sure to go to more games in Anaslime when our beloved are playing there.

    It@BrokeKingsFan, it was pretty hilarious when the organist was playing The Adams Family theme, and all Kings fans chanting “Ducks Suck” as they do at Staples Center.
