Lineup change; Richardson in

The Kings have made a lineup change, with Brad Richardson replacing Trent Hunter. Apparently, there is no injury issue. Through a team spokesman, Terry Murray cited the need for “speed and fresh legs.”

    @Dominick,

    I like the possible scoring touch Hunter has, but I have to admit I’m glad Ritchie is back in. Watching him at practice, he looked disappointed to me. How could he not be, right? I expect him to be on fire tonight.

    Good move. Hunter didn’t look especially sharp anyway yesterday.

    @KC23,

    No, he didn’t. He was replaced by Lewis for a few shifts too I believe. I actually do wonder if it is a possible injury because he looked really slow last night.

    @matty muls, Richardson has done so much for this team……oh……wait….is Richardson number 11, 32, 10, 8, 3, 23, or 14?

    KFII Reply:

    @matty muls, I’m thinking on the 3rd RW with Stoll and Cliffy. We will find out soon.

    KC23 Reply:

    @KFII, Yeah, that is my take as well. Definately our worst line yesterday imho. Stoll and Clifford seemed to have forgotten how to forecheck.

    No it wasn’t. That was the first thing I asked Hammond about this morning, but he’s a busy guy. (wink, wink)

    Good move. Now Lokti can play on the PP unit, and Richie can kill penalties!

    A good friend of mine scored me a ticket to tonight’s game. VERY Stoked AND Richie’s in?!?!?

    I got a GOOD feeling about tonight….

    Go Richie…GO KINGS!!!

    Sorry for no synopsis of last night’s game. Really excellent work to pay 2 games in a row with the same offensive system though. Hopefully tonight makes it 3.

    Oh, and Voynov needs to STAY!

    Really, I think Murph might want to put Richie in there to start up a fight if the momentum isn’t going our way. He’s been doing quite a bit of that lately. If I can see another Richie/Selanne fight, I’ll be thrilled.

    Hunter did one good thing last night, he was in front of the goal a lot. I think he hasn’t played enough with the team to realize that’s a no-man’s land for the Kings. Or maybe he’s smart enough to realize we should put someone there to get rebounds.

    @et219, I’m with you on that. This team doesn’t understand the fundamentals of NHL Hockey. Stick someone in front of the net to BLOCK the goalies sight lines and to frustrate him.

    “Speed and fresh legs”. Good call Terry, Richardson always brings energy to the line he is on. He never gives up early on the puck. I love the way he plays. The goals have to start coming soon though. I want to see him stick around for a long time.

  17. The speed of Richie will make the offense more productive. Richie is a scrambler and goes all out. I am in favor of this change. Go Richie! Go Kings Go! Lets get 7 goals tonight!

    Richardson uses a sledge hammer for a hockey stick. Worse shot in hockey. We have enough checkers. At least there is the possibility that Hunter will score: absolutely none with Richardson.

    I like this change. Richie is always hustling and trying to make things happen, and I didn’t see much out of Hunter last night at all. Go Richie and go Kings!!

    @Resedakingsfan, he does a lot of “trying” but nothing else much happens.
