It’s the first of six meetings this season between the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. The Kings went 2-3-1 against the Ducks last season. On Monday, the Ducks claimed Niklas Hagman off waivers from Calgary, but Hagman has visa issues and won’t play tonight. The Kings and Ducks share Southern California, and they also share a problem: 5-on-5 goals. The Kings rank 27th in the NHL in that category while the Ducks are one spot behind. Jonas Hiller is expected to start in goal for the Ducks. It’s a tough time to be a former King in Anaheim, as Jason Blake, George Parros and Lubomir Visnovsky are all on the injured-reserve list. For the latest on the Ducks, check out my old pal and colleague Eric Stephens’ work at The Orange County Register, followed by the expected lineups for both teams and the Ducks’ full roster.

i am keeping an close eye on Doughty and JJ….Scuderi and Greene are Vets they dotn need us to keep an eye out but they are both stay home defense so that pair doesnt make sense at all but still Greene a slow animal but if u get check u will be on ur butt. Scuderi will be a instead od a pocket picker will be Puck picker
I kinda like the second line now but lets see how that work..
Come on Kings win this game and tomorrow

@KingsFanFTW, If the JJ DD line lasts the whole game it will be a big (pleasant) surprise to me.

I predict that Voynov scores tonight, proving yet again he belongs in the lineup on a regular basis.

Big two games….If we lose tonight..then its 2 wins two losses in the last 4 games….going nowhere……If we win tonight ..then its 3 wins out of the last 4 games and we are going in the right direction…..If we split two games against an injured and less talented team…then we are just killing time….

Kings NEED to take advantage of a team that’s depleted and performing poorly. This is a game they cannot afford to lose. Ducks have some great players and we can’t give them a reason to feel confident. Also, it wouldn’t be fair to Kings fans going to the game to have to listen to a bunch of noisy yard birds squawking it up if their team wins.

I don’t want any ducks fans to have an excuse to smile even once tonight.

Well, the Ducks certainly have set the record for the longest combined fourth-line names in NHL history.

Ducks…take away the D and subsitue it with an S and hopefully they will tonight.

Ducks look tough on paper however I’ve been watching their home games and they look very normal except for Selanne and Perry and Fowler but Fowler has a terrible +/- right now like -17??
Kings cannot let up on the peddle, move the puck and skate them down
