    Nice read Rich. I liked it better when it was just mulletgate. Hope Fraser shows off his fighting skills against the Quacks.

    He seems to be the only one truly grinding since Simmonds was traded, not that I’m comparing the two. I just miss what Simmer brought to the table with his speed, grit, and occasional scoring touch.

    @neil, “comments from the players and the coaches havnt changed much”. Haven’t, won’t, probably can’t. Post comments from ’06, ’08, and today, there wouldn’t be many clues where to place them (unless, maybe, names are being named).
    as fans, we read these interviews and hear the same standardized blurts again and again.
    like we can’t get enough of it.
    yeah, we’re pathetic.

    This Frasier kid is the real deal. He brings toughness and grit. Actually what this team needs is more of it. It seems that Brown is saving his body for later in the year, he’s has not lived up to his reputation as of late. Clifford is in a sophomore slump. Westgarth needs to find his place. Moreau is a grinder and a like what he brings. Greene is a monster. We have the toughness now that I think about it more. Don’t count out Hunter. Dude has pulled his weight. A good 4 line…

    Moreau,Frasier,Hunter.

    These guys are hockey players. No fancy crap, just good old fashioned hard nosed puck heads. Here’s to beating the Ducks tomorrow. Peace out!

    Central Coast King Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake, I agree, Fras is the’ Real Deal’. I can’t waite for him to relly show his stuff against the quacks. He is driven to prove his worth and he knows Lord Stanley peronally or at least his cup.

    Central Coast King Reply:

    @Central Coast King, sorry, that’s ( really & personally ).

    Dominick Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake,
    I think Brown is concentrating on being a scorer this season. Foxy asked him about the hitting (or lack there of) and if he was worried about the NHL craking down on hits, or if that is effecting his game, and Brown said “no”.

    I think the biggest knock on him has been that when he hits, he takes himself out of position. He’s actually tied with Gagne in points, and only 1 behind Richards. Now he’s scoring at a 1rst line rate, but he’s not hitting as much.

    It’s kind of a “Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t” scenario. Personally I like the new Brown, and let the hits come from the other lines.

    [Reply]

    wavesinair Reply:

    @Dominick, He hit like crazy last year an scored 20 goals. I like that Brown.

    [Reply]

    wes Reply:

    @wavesinair, 28, which in today’s NHL is roughly equivalent to what 40 was 20 years ago.

    Bkrs-Bud Reply:

    @Dominick, I prefer the scoring Brown.

    [Reply]

    Shakes Reply:

    @Dominick,

    he’s like a Smurf, he can potentially do many things, but not always a ton of many things at the same time. There Scorey Brownie, there’s Hitty Brownie, there’s Shot Mentality Brownie, etc

    By the way, his goal last game was epic. When they do a highlight reel of his career that should be in it… it wasn’t the most amazing Ovechkin-esque goal, but it was speed on the outside, determination to take it to the goal, and tenacity to score on the rebound.

    That’s what Brown can do for you.

    [Reply]

    Stuart Reply:

    @Shakes, Agreed about that last game, def his best of the year! He’s starting to be the Passy Brownie more too and that’s all I’ve ever asked of him…when Passy grows up he’ll be tape-to-tapey Brownie and then the universe will implode and nothing will (dark) matter!! So maybe I’ll settle for Passy!

    Shakes Reply:

    @Stuart, that’s hilarious, Passy Brownie. PLUS Passy Brownie actually probably find that he scores more goals because he’ll be better positioned to pickup rebounds

    wes Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake, “No fancy crap”– yeah hockey don’t need no Wayne Gretzky’s, don’t need no Bobby Orr’s, don’t need no Pavel Burre’s, don’t need no Lafluer’s, no Dionne’s, jus’ pleny’o 0-to-6-goal-a-career throw-down tough guys like Cam Janssen, Georges Laraque, Dave Shultz, an’ Westy. Dudes pull their weight.
    Well . . .
    On the other hand . . .

    kinginsaltlake Reply:

    @wes, Well when you put it that way. I guess we do need hunan highlights. But we also need guyd who still play for the fun of it. Greed got to Gretz.

    Really glad that Fraser survived the you-know-what created by Edmonton during the deal. You can see that he is playing with a lot of hustle and desire. He knows that his job is in jeopardy and really trying his best to hang in there. I really hope he makes it and continues to contribute to the team.

    Lookin forward to the game to see what these new guys will bring.
    What happens if SV scores 4 goals and 6 assists in 6 games….what will TM do if the kid shows that he is ready to play in NHL?
    I really hope he has this problem moving forward.

    [Reply]

    KingsFanFTW Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB, Voynov already shown he ready for the NHL Dean and TM knows it but there just not enough room for him…

    Trading Martinez or siting him out will be a dumb thing to do lets face it Martinez has his part of his role on this team as JJ and Doughty but not proven because this is second year with the Kings

    [Reply]

    DanielC Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB, Ok, so if Slava does score “4 goals, 6 assists in 6 games” who do they move? Certainly not Doughty, Johnson..You could say Martinez, but in my opinion AMart has really taken a step since last year.. just an unfortunate bump in the road right now for him going on IR. The reason Slava is and will be a call up from Manchester is because the luxury of having him at our disposal if anyone of the “Moving Puck D-Man” go on IR and Slava gets the call, he doesn’t have to go through waivers, so no team can grab him.

    [Reply]

    puck73 Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB, Ultimately,TM has no say whether Voynov stays or not. You heard it right here on the blog last time from him. He said he felt Voynov was NHL ready but that it was management’s decision.

    [Reply]

    OCKINGin HB Reply:

    @puck73,
    if thats the case, if either of these guys performs well, we will see how serious management is about winning a cup.

    [Reply]

    KingsFanFTW Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB, even with Voynov doesnt mean this team has a 100% chance on winning the Cup dont forget that

    Martinez is good too one guy doesnt mean Martinez sucks mybe to u but not n real life

    DanielC Reply:

    @puck73, Yes, and I don’t disagree that Slava shouldn’t stay..but having the depth is a great thing to have!

    Shotongoal Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB, If he puts up anything near those numbers I’m sure DEAN LOMBARDI will find a solution to keep him in LA. Let’s just hope that problem gets created over the next week of games!

    [Reply]

    Dominick Reply:

    @OCKINGin HB,
    I know it’s just wishful thinking out loud, but I would be shocked if Lokti comes anywhere near those numbers. He’ll probably score a few points in his first couple of games due to adrenaline, then taper off a bit as the bigger NHL players pound him into the boards more, and try to limit his space.

    Good read Rich. I think Fraser has played with good energy. BTW….Saturday marks the 20 game mark. I hope we beat the Ducks twice and then get ready for the Red Wings. GKG!

    You can tell Fraser was on a cup team, his work ethic is great as is his nose for the net. He will score the dirty goals, and bring the pain.

  10. KC23 says:

    I’m expected some kind of activity from the Kings once the GM meetings are over. We have Hickey, DD2 and Voynov as depth defenseman, but virtually no depth wingers in Manchester. Just doesn’t make sense to keep things that way.

  11. KC23 says:

    Outside of the Pens coach, Phoenix’s Tippet has got to be some kind of genius. How and the heck does that guy do it with that line up?

    Was checking the standings and if you’re like me it has felt like we’ve had a major set back in the standings, but upon examination we are only 3 pts from being the 3rd seed in the conference. Dallas is coming back down to earth. Wow, 6 – 0 against Florida at home? Yikes.

    [Reply]

    fsd1 Reply:

    @KC23, I think Phoenix will soon flatten out, its a long season and they are playing way above their skill level. Tippet is a genuis, but IMHO it wont last.

    I actually weirdly watched that Florida /Dallas game last nite just to cheer against Dallas…. also what a scene that Pens/Avs game was. Colorado was up 3-1 before everything fell off. Hooray for that though

    Loving Fraser so far…the goal was just a bonus. IMO, the Kings lacked grit and fire before Fraser was in the lineup. That’s exactly what he brings to the table. He brings an attitude I like.

  14. KC23 says:

    I’ve always found it interesting how it seems, in general, hockey players are so much more down to earth than other sports players. Yeah, there are exceptions both ways, but you go on any NHL’s team web site and watch the players interact with the fans, there is definately much more sense that they are not full of themselves.
