Murray `can’t really speculate’ on Parse

Scott Parse will miss tonight’s game because of his “lower-body injury,’’ and at this point there’s no timetable for his return. Parse is on injured reserve, so his soonest possible return date would be next Thursday at Anaheim, meaning he will miss at least three games. Terry Murray didn’t have much in terms of an update on Parse.

MURRAY: “It’s not day-to-day. He’s on the I.R. so he’s out for seven days for sure. You evaluate it after that time, so I can’t really speculate too far beyond that. We’ll see how it is and just go from there.’’

    Correct me if I’m wrong but, with Fraser being active, won’t some type of roster move need to be made prior to Parse coming back? Someone’s going to need to be waived or traded… I think.

    @Jon, Waived, traded, or set down. Parse could go to Manchester on a conditioning assignment coming of IR but yeah a decision will have to be made.

    @Jon, That was always the plan.

    DL found a way to keep 24 players here for the whole season in case of injury. Kind of like having a free-bee. All other teams have to have 23. He new eventually he would have to use his get out of jail free card, and Parse getting injured is it.

    @Dominick,

    Exactly what I was thinking. I saw a video of what “might” have the been the play in which Parse may have been injured. He went down and his knees went wide. Could have lead to a hip set back or groin, may be not.

    When Parse is healthy again, TM will say “I’ll pass that along”.

    Like Matt Moulson and Teddy Purcell, Scott Parse’s days as an LA King are numbered…

    Dominick Reply:

    @BobsYourUncle, Hope not. Some count his injury as a step back, but he’s been playing well lately, and the injury isn’t that serious. He’ll be out a week or so, then comeback and provide us some depth.

    @Dominick,

    He’s really been skating well…this is a shame. Still don’t get the Parse haters…I suppose they’ll always hate him no matter how well he does….

    As much as I’ve always wondered about Parse being a “top 6 forward”…he did show the ability over his few game sting scoring those 2 goals before being dumped to the lower lines. Unfortunately if he really has that talent…he wont show it until he is traded like Moulson, Boyle, Purcell did…

    @Cruiznblue, would love to have Moulson or Purcell back now, but the truth is, they didn’t show much with the Kings when they were here. Perhaps it is the system. Tampa is pretty much all-out offense and someone has to score eventually on the Islanders.

    Parse is actually a pretty good player when he isn’t taking minor penalties. I wouldnt mind having a Parse – Richards – Brown second line.

    @markisonfire, A 1-3-1 trap is “all offense”? Zero players in the offensive zone for minutes on end?

    Tampa has their chances, but they are a very defensive team.

    Did he get hit by someone, I must of missed it? Preds game right?

    CB14 Reply:

    @Lake Forest, Yeah, Preds game. I don’t remember anything being shown during the game that might have caused his injury.

    dMan Reply:

    @Lake Forest, he tripped over the blue line and sprained his ankle.

    Wonder if TM will break his no one will ever lose a roster spot due to injury thing he said a few years ago. Bottom line, when Parse comes back someone has to go. We can speculate all we want (however living in Vegas it would be more fun to bet). Bottom line, it’s gonna get interesting soon.

    The dude is always hurt.. can’t develop into a top 6 forward watching the game from the press box…

    @markisonfire, I’d like to reserve judgment on Parse until he plays at least a full season. Looks like it won’t be anytime soon.

    I believe this was the cause of Scott Parse’s injury… you be the judge: http://deepinsidethekings.com/2011/11/parse-injury/

    Parse will be missed…even though TM never gave him the minutes he deserved. And I’m tired about hearing about his penalty minutes…Moreau has as many penalty and Penner leads the team in penalty minutes with 25, and Parse has more goals than those two combined.
