Kings pointing to Phoenix for Doughty

The question, “Will Drew Doughty play tonight?’’ was essentially answered at the end of the morning skate, when Slava Voynov came off the ice with a couple other defensemen and Doughty remained out for extra work. Doughty got in a second day of full practice but will not play tonight against Dallas. Terry Murray, though, made it sound as though Doughty is a strong possibility for Saturday’s game at Phoenix.

MURRAY: “He’s not cleared to play. He’s cleared to practice, full contact in practice, by the doctor. So he’s getting close, getting better. He’s on the ice doing everything. We’ll get through one more game here without him, and hopefully we can make a decision after that.’’

    great…

but he needs to be of restaurant-quality, norris-like mindset, if not playing shape…

he’s already lost tc and now almost two weeks…

I think I’m sold on the idea of brining Dewey in Sunday–that way they benefit from Voynov’s legs Saturday and Dewey’s fresh legs Sunday.

I have a feeling Doughty might be cleared to play but if he gets a good hit on his shoulder, he could be out for the rest of the season, like Loktionov.

The fact this was not 7-10 days tells me this wasn’t a bruise, more like a partial dislocation.

The Kings are not exactly lighting the lamp. It seems more and more like Penner is not going to add anything in terms of scoring. Parse is not a top 6 forward who are trying to fool.

What is going on with Brown? Are the new players building some chemistry, because it does not look like they are able to do what they should be doing, scoring goals.

This is frustrating. I hope the offense picks up soon, otherwise the Kings are going to have to do something.

    Rich,

with Doughty’s return causing a bit of a logjam on defense for the Kings, are there signs that Lombardi might actually be shopping someone like Alec Martinez? Is it at all likely that the Kings may be one of the unnamed six teams interested in RFA Kyle Turris?
