Brown postgame quotes (Oct. 25)

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the Devils, and the game…)
BROWN: “They played a pretty good game, I think. Any time you play Jersey, it’s going to be a frustrating game. I think it’s important to try to not get frustrated with the way they play. We had some turnovers and they made plays. I think if we eliminate a lot of our turnovers, it eliminates a lot of their chances. So that’s on us. But give them credit. They made some really great plays out there to score some goals because of our mistakes.’’

(on the difference in the Kings’ effort from the last couple games…)
BROWN: “From start to finish, it was a different — I don’t want to say feel — but it just wasn’t good enough tonight. We have to forget about it and go. There are 82 games in the season. We’re not going to be on top of our game. I think what we need to avoid is a night like tonight. When we’re not really playing at optimal level, we have to have our compete. Tonight, it wasn’t there the whole game.’’

    Can we just skip the post game quotes and Fast Forward to the next game? Who has a time machine here? I know one of you guys built one.

    @tacomakingsfan, The kings have to score when they get chances. They had chances tonight. But Jersey scored when they had chances. Kings had way too many passes picked off. I saw a lot of soft passes. No good. Soft passes almost never get to the intended receiver. Oh well. next game…get hot again on the roadie. Go get em boys

    i thought that this site would crash tonight if we lost or if jb played poorly…
    the only thing that seemed to be crashing was certain bloggers belief in a really good 5-2-1 team….

    BROWN is not the same, he isnt playing with the same intensity as in prior years. He hasn’t been physical and hasnt been throwing his weight around. would like to see him be more physical and vocal….i mean he is our captain right? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

    go kings go lets regroup

    @gmo, Looks like he just gave up his captaincy the moment Richards got here.

    Stuart Reply:

    @PP Anybody?, ouch… people have always pointed out the DB’s captaincy isn’t an in-your-face on and he’s not much of a screamer/confrontationalist, but he does lead by example and his example is not a good one to follow right now. It’s early and he’ll get better.

    @Andrew: the second coming, Exactly. No way the Captain of our team is going to out the coach in the press, not a chance….but you know deep down he was thinking it.

    @puck73, I found it intresting in the Interview they did with Quick he said, well I thought I was going to play, but I guess coach has his reasons. Also it sure did look like it in his intermission interview. You could tell that he was displeased with the whole situation.

  7. PP Anybody? says:

    I somehow remember before the season started, something about the coaching staff addressing the issue of lack of 5 on 5 scoring last year and that it needed to pick up this year. So far, 8 games played, only 1 game where they managed to score more than 2 goals in regulation. Just out of curiosity, what’s changed? We clearly have more talent now.

    Did anyone here think that even with a eriod to play, that they’d come back and win 4 to 3? Don’t think so. And why is that? It’d be nice to know that if we make it in to the playoffs, we could stack up against any team, and beat them at any game they want to play. I’m not seeing a team coached in a way that could do that at this point.

    having so much talents and look so powerless ???????? 3 games ,3 Home games and 3 goals???TO BAD
    Stanley cup is a daydream …We need somebody like Balsma or even Tippet.The only good thing …happened to me by waching this game was …I went to rest room every 10minutes

    Let’s not forget. Jersey played a pretty fine game tonight. Even if we played top notch, it would have been a 1-0 finish by someone. NJ was defensively sound tonight.

    puck73 Reply:

    @Cynic, New Jersey played well, and so did Hedberg. In fact, Moose made it look easier then it was, he is still a fine goaltender.

    Of all players, it should be the guy wearing the C that goes and competes every night, no questions asked. I’m yet to see Brown compete at all so far. He’s been a non-factor in every facet of a hockey game.

    Scott3343 Reply:

    @Nyck, Brown scored two goals this season. Both were five holes where he rammed the puck threw the hole for a goal…

    [Reply]

    Stuart Reply:

    @Scott3343, and that’s because DB is a rammer-type player…

    Did anyone notice that 2-1 semi-break he had with AK (in the 2nd I want to say)? DB made a 10 foot pass at 100 mph and it almost broke AK’s blade off his stick…no touch involved whatsoever with that play…SLOW DOWN DB!!! Full speed is good, but you need to have the ability to down-shift when it is called for…

    Still plenty of time my friends…

    @Stuart,

    Any time a person hits someone on the stick – no matter how hard it was going it is on the reciever of the pass.
