The Dallas Stars played last night in Anaheim, and per reports from Dallas media, the Stars will get some fresh legs in the lineup tonight. Andrew Raycroft will get his second start of the season, and the Stars are also expected to dress the three players who were healthy scratches last night, with Toby Petersen and Tom Wandell going into fourth-line roles and Adam Pardy going in on defense.
For all the latest on the Stars, check out Mike Heika’s great coverage for The Dallas Morning News by clicking here.
I think we can beat Raycroft

@CB14, That’s like saying, I think if Quick saves all the Stars shots we have a good chance of winning. DOH!

@Adam, If we have more goals then them at the end of the game we will win I would put my house on it.
That is good news that Raycroft is in net tonight!

@Crown74, Raycroft shut us out last year, and faced 35 shots for that shutout. So it still wont be easy.

@downsy89,
Big difference (I think) in Kings offense this year. Kind of like comparing grapefruit and oranges – they are both citrus but one is a whole lot sweeter than the other.

even more reason to not have a let down…
raycroft lost in his only start giving up four goals…
shoot early, shoot often…

Quite a treat for Raycroft to get the Kings on the 2nd night of a back to back. Plus coach throws in three scrubs. Lucky him.

Stars looked opportunistic last night. If we keep our errors low then I think we will do well.
This will be a good preview for next Thursday here in Dallas! Can’t wait for that game, I’ve got tickets!

Good link. Heika is a good writer. Wish we had that kind of coverage in the papers for both the Kings and Ducks.
Rich, noticed you and Mike have a little mutual link thing going (kidding!)

Heika’s a pretty thorough writer, and loves stats.
His key stat though is 100.
If they win, that will be the 100th win for Dallas, against the Kings.
My key stat is 101.
That is Quick’s career total wins if the Kings win.

@Dominick,
i like yr attention to detail better than his…(!)

So, just to get this straight, the Stars change their line-up but TM keeps our line-up the same as the last couple of games? Did someone kidnap the real TM and replace hm with an android?

Watch out for this Wandell guy..
He can move the puck well..

Finally my patience for this team is paying off.
I’m enjoying each and every day of it.

Rich, are you friends with other journalists? As in do you and other writers meet up during games (if you have time)??

Rich, how would we really know WHAT roster changes the Dallas Stars might make?
The detailed Game Notes cannot be found anywhere at LAKings.com. Apparently all that’s available for tonight’s game is a one sheet JPG image of the two teams’ rosters (Even that wasn’t anywhere to be found for the opener against the Blues).
The detailed stat pages and player info is no where to be found at LAKings.com and hell will likely freeze over (i.e. the Vancouver Canucks will win a Stanley Cup) before an answer will ever be received from feedback@lakings.com.
GOAL magazine and later the Game Night insert disappeared decades ago.
A few seasons ago, the Kings stopped giving out complimentary game notes to fans at Guest Link under the guise of “saving the environment.”
OK, fine. At least they were available at the website for fans to print.
Next, the media guide was no longer available in print.
I still haven’t read the last two seasons because it is VERY INCONVENIENT to have to read it off a computer. You know, some people work at their computers all day long and it’s refreshing to be able to read a book that isn’t tethered to one!
Programs are hit and miss, with the kids at the 11th St entrance half the time at most, sending fans on a scavenger hunt to find them.
At 7:15 pm on opening night I was told they were “sold out” of the programs.
Last season, the complimentary roster cards went and the Game Notes were erratically posted, constantly being moved around as if making it difficult on purpose for fans to find and print what portions (mostly the roster and main stat sheets) that interested them.
And, please, save the “it’s only for the media” excuse. If the NHL doesn’t want fans attending a game to be able to know anything more about the home and visiting players than their last name and sweater number, then by all means, keep catering to the ignorant who just want to go out and have a good time for the evening instead of the fans who actually are going there to watch hockey and account for the great majority of the league’s revenues.
I’ve been a full season seat holder since the 80s. Is it really too much to expect for the Kings to have available either at the game, on the web or for purchase some detailed stat info for the game that includes both team rosters and statistics?
I’ve also heard ticket stubs may be disappearing too, forcing fans to print them up each night before a game. That’s the last thing I want to do before heading to Staples Center – printing tickets or have to worry about power, computer, printing or internet glitch issues.
On opening night, our pre-paid parking lot was closed. Was anyone there from Staples Center to direct people where to alternatively park? Are you kidding? Expecting that would be like expecting the Kings to take 5 shots on goal on a power play opportunity.
Yes, it’s true the NBA’s on strike and the Kings are hoping to go deep into the playoffs. So basically the unspoken message is: ‘If you don’t like it, don’t renew your season tickets. We can sell them to someone else.’

@Philip, Just because Rich is the “Insider” doesn’t mean he knows every single thing that happens with the Kings. He’s also not the person who made all those decisions you’re upset about. Mabye your anger should be directed somewhere else.

@CB14,
CB14:
It’s not anger. It’s frustration at the lack of customer service by the L.A. Kings.
Also, never claimed Rich does know anything about it. But perhaps he can shed some light on those decisions, perhaps not. In any case, I’m not telling him what to or what not to write. I’m not even asking him to respond or look into anything. I merely made a comment and observation.
Are you a moderator of this site? If not, then perhaps you shouldn’t tell people what they can or cannot write on it.

@Philip, I never said you can’t write what you wrote, just that perhaps your frustration would be better directed towards someone who has some say about those things.
In case you missed the article’s where Rich spoke to the Kings new Director of in Game Presentation Danny a couple of weeks ago, here they are:

He might be able to help, or at least lead you in the right direction.
