Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on recording a second consecutive shutout…)
QUICK: “We’ve been playing some good hockey, the last few games here. I think it comes from a little bit of team chemistry building. We did the big three-week road trip, and the guys are feeling good. Everybody is loose, everybody is playing well. We can’t get complacent and we can’t be satisfied. We’ve got to keep coming out every game with the same hard-work mentality that we’ve had.’’
(on handling Phoenix’s strong first 10 minutes…)
QUICK: “Over the past couple years, they always seem to have that in the first 10 minutes. They always seem to get a lot of momentum going and create chances, so we expect that a bit when we come in here. You’ve kind to kind of whether the storm and create some of your own stuff. I think we did a good job of that tonight.’’
looking real good quickie
offense and pp looked good if we keep getting better this year …OH MY…
looks like learning to play and flow really well.

Way to go Quick. Wouldn’t it be grand to win a Vezina this year, then next year become the winningest goalie in Kings history. Here’s hoping for a healthy next 2 years.

@Dominick, Hey Dominick! Random question who is your all time fav plaeyer. Also Quick should have been in the top 3 voting but we doesn’t get any pub, I believe the addition of Richards and Gags give us a bit more pub because they played back east. Sorry random post. No one talks to me on here and I am bored.

@Andrew, Ziggy. The guy did everything, and was part of a line that kind of summed up what being a Kingsfan was all about. His Linemates both got injured, and that line that had potential, ended up the greatest line that never was.
That’s the way it has always been all my life. Potential never realized. Ziggy carried the team by himself after that, and the Kings began their rebuild that has lead to the team that we have today.
I believe we’ve arrived, and this will be a big year.

@Dominick, Hi five, I’m pretty young (19) I’ve been a Kings fan since I can remeber, Ziggy is my all time fav as well that line was so damn good. Bad luck on the injuries. Yes I agree this team is going places it seems like they are clickig and getting it all together. They have the vets to keep it going all year.

@Dominick, I still wonder about what the team would have been liek if it weren’t for Deadmarsh and Allison Injuries. When healthy that line always produced, and it was at a time when goal scoring was down.

@Andrew, The additional pub will come from the Kings being one of the top teams in the league, not due to the additions of Gagne and Richards. Although their additions are a big reason for the Kings being one of the top teams in the league. I hope that made sense.
As far as no one talks to you, the people read all your comments even if they don’t respond back. Just look at the page about Hunter not playing. I had a discussion with 2 people in which I said Westy sucked, yet after Westy made a great assist on Clifford’s goal, I had about 10 people calling me on it. It goes to show you that just because people don’t respond to you, it doesn’t mean people don’t read your comments.

@CB14, Yeah I read alot of peoples comments and you guys come up alot, so I figured I would try and talk to you guys because you know I’m on here alot because I am a lazy college student in Vegas which is built for 21 year olds. Lol Also yes it did make sense with the Rick and gags comment pub. It is a werid feeling to me, I was very young when the great one was here, So i’ve never really seen this type of team. Scary good. Also I hope that does’t mean you’ve seen what I’ve said and just said man he is dumb ahha.

@Andrew, No I haven’t thought that about your posts. There’s a lot of good posts, and posters on here, and it’s impossible to respond to each one.
I too was very young during the Gretzky years, I was 10 at the time, but I remember most of it. MCSORELY
Sucks for you to be in Vegas and not able to gamble and drink, legally that is. Although it’s probably better for your grades, and wallet, that you can’t hit the casinos. From one Kings fan to another, stay in school. If only for the fact that if you quit school, like I did, you end up getting a job where you don’t have access to L.A. Kings Insider until 4 o’clock in the afternoon. You want one of those cushy desk jobs in front of a computer so you can follow the site all day long. It sucks not to be able to see what’s happening during the day and comment about it.
Yes it’s bad that that’s the only check you remember him throwing. That was part of my reasoning for not wanting him to play. Boy was I proven wrong.

@CB14, Yeah I am staying in school. I was sad that I had to move thou, I saved up money to buy season tickets and then I was told we were moving lol. It was so fun last year I got to see some amazing games, The opener, the lighting game and The Wings game. It was sooo damn fun. Can’t wait to come back and get season tickets.

@Andrew, Just not a good team here, but we are loaded throught the organization. For the next 5 years, we have a farm system that is deeper than any team in the league. So this team will have younger players with talent coming in every year, for years to come. If injuries happen, we have the depth to make up for it, and a whole bevy of future superstars emerging on the ice.
It’s a good time to be a Kingsfan.

@Andrew, I don’t evr play online. I should because the game doesn’t get cahallenging after I figure out how to beat the computer, unless I change the rules. I start getting to the point where I’ll try to only score 1 timers, or get to where I keep each team to 15 shots or less.
I’m more of a first person shooter when it comes to games, and I like exploring and completing missions.
Good to talk to ya, and hope to talk more in the future.

If Quick keeps playing like this, and with TM’s desire to play the goalie with the hot hand, what is going to become of JB? This might present an interesting dilemma for King’s management. JB can’t ride the pine the rest of the way. He’s got to get into games. I’m not going to fault him for the loss to the Sabers. Our play in front of him was marginal at best. We’re doing a much better job of eliminating second chances and clearing the net these last 4 games. No pity for JB but Quick’s play has been stellar.

@bonvivant1, He plays as long as he keeps winning. Sooner or later, he either gets pretty tired, begins to lose his edge, goes into a slump, is asked to play back-to-back games, is asked to play 4 games in 5 days, gets bored….plug in your own scenario!
I’m not concerned that Quick will keep up this level of intesity for another 78 consecutive games, so I really don’t understnd your question!
It just means that as long as a goalie (Quick in this instance) keeps playing well, you stay with him, within reason. It doesn’t mean you ride him to exahustion and put him away wet!

So if Quicker has one off game in the future, is everyone going to jump back on the Bernier is better bus, or can we finally agree that Quick is the best goalie we’ve had in decades? We are definitely in the money with both of these guys, I just hope we also realize that they are human and probably will have only 70 shutouts this year between them, as opposed to 82.

Quick looks like he has found another level. His positioning shows his confidence. He’s more assertive, more patient and more controlled. If he keeps this up, I see Vezina nominations in the near future.
Even when the defense makes lazy plays or commits turn overs, he seems to always be in good position. He’s already stealing games.

I’ve been saying for a long long time that Vachon was the best King goalie in their history, but Quick may finally change that if he keeps going the way he’s going. He’ll surpass all Kings goalies very very soon.

man this kid is so humble, so all the right things when interviewed. After the games, talking with Bob and Jim, every other word was team and the ones in between were “they’re all playing great”… just goes about his work, doesn’t worry about the kid coming up, just does what he does, and does it very well! Nice back-to-back SO JQ!

I think that its a crime that the NHL did not make Quick one of the three stars of the night.
