Brown postgame quotes

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
BROWN: “We played pretty good in the third, had good puck possession. It was different out there with the big ice. I think it was good to get a game in over here, and now we can get ready to go against New York.’’

(on the difference, playing on the wider ice…)
BROWN: “You have a lot more time with the puck, on the offensive side of things, but on the flip side of that, with the way our structure is, it’s hard to play because there’s no much extra ice. If you get extended towards the boards, there’s just so much ice in the middle, which you don’t want to give up. You could see, on some of their counters and their regroups, that they were finding the middle quite a bit because of the extra ice. We got extended to the outside and they found the inside. It’s tough to defend that.’’

(on refocusing before Friday’s season opener…)

BROWN: “We have two days before the game to get ready. I think we’re ready. From the standpoint of players, I think we’re ready to get to the real games and get that intensity level. Preseason, it’s tough, especially towards the end. You just want to play a real game. We’re going to have that opportunity finally, and I think we’ll be excited and ready to go.’’
