— The Kings played at Sprint Center for the third time in the last four years.
— Jonathan Bernier played the entire game and stopped 39 of 41 shots, plus 6 of 8 in the shootout.
— Jarret Stoll scored a first-period goal and also assisted on Alec Martinez’s third-period power-play goal. Martinez, in turn, also assisted on Stoll’s goal.
— Dustin Brown and Justin Williams also had assists for the Kings.
— The Penguins outshot the Kings 41-21, including 15-3 in the third period.
— The Kings went 1-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill, including a Pittsburgh 5-on-3 advantage that lasted 1:43.
