Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on if he thought about facing Colorado, the team he got hurt against last season…)
KOPITAR: “No. I was probably thinking about it a little more in the last game at Staples (Center), because it happened there. That was the only one. No, definitely not. It was a non-factor. I’m past that, obviously. I’ve got to look forward. What happened, happened, and I’m all healed up now and that’s the most important thing.’’
(on his hat trick…)
KOPITAR: “There were a couple of almost freebee ones there, the one on the side of the net there. But I’ll take those too. It’s been a while since I scored a goal, so it’s nice to get a few on the board, for sure.’’
(on the six goals tonight…)
KOPITAR: “It’s good. The second period, the power play was obviously clicking tonight and when that gets going, the team gets more confidence and we move the puck around, it seems, a little easier. It’s good to see that we got off to a pretty good start, even in the first period. The second period, we really took off and took advantage of the chances.’’
Can’t wait for Frozen Fury!

The NHL has announced they will deny the Kings’ request to play Colorado 82 games this year.

@vplaza, And how about Voynov stepping up with some assists? I guess he doesn’t miss Doughnut too much, eh?

@Rob,
I’m betting Voynov is relieved that Money isn’t in camp or else he’d be on the bubble more. But I’d love it if Voynov plays very well and shows that he is good enough to stay with the big club.
Allus King fans and all of Slovenia
are dancing in the streets tonight…

@uknojata,
But some people think he should be the second highest paid player on the team. Weird.

@goldielocks, That was great. Kopi went for a regroup and took the puck back in the zone himself. He seems to be setting up down low on the right wing now. Didn’t see much movement, or rotation on that video, but the video was only a small taste. Wish I could of watched the whole game. Thanks for the link.

@goldielocks, good find…that was a fantastic shift by Kopitar, you can tell how commited he is to being a 2 way player, goes back recovers the puck takes it back in the zone, makes a play, goes to the net, puts in his 2nd chance. just awesome.

Kopi is going to have a monster year! I have no Doughty about it!!!
