Wednesday skate update

A few notes…

— As expected, Simon Gagne will not play tonight, but Gagne did make it through the entire skate and is expected to be fine going forward.

— The first set of roster cuts is expected tomorrow, with 7-10 players getting trimmed and camp going from three groups to two.

— Colin Fraser, recovering from foot surgery, said he would participate in practice drills today for the first time, with the non-game practice group. Fraser said he has not yet been cleared for contact in practice but is improving.

— A handful of players who are considered more veteran AHL guys are given stalls in the Kings’ locker room. The stall between Willie Mitchell and Matt Greene is being used by Viatcheslav Voynov. Since 2008, it has been occupied by Drew Doughty.
