Here’s a rundown of how things went in Arizona, with the Kings picking up a 3-2 victory at Jobing.com Arena. Dustin Penner scored in the final minute to give the Kings the victory.
THIRD PERIOD

Kings 3, Coyotes 2: Dustin Penner scored with 49 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Kings the lead. Tyler Toffoli got an assist.
SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It remains Bernier vs. Smith.
End of period: In the scoreless period, the Coyotes outshot the Kings 10-9.
FIRST PERIOD
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Bernier against the Coyotes’ Mike Smith to start the game.
Kings 1, Coyotes 0: Ethan Moreau started the scoring at the 1:19 mark with an even-strength goal, with an assist to Trevor Lewis.
Kings 1, Coyotes 1: Keith Yandle tied the game at the 5:22 mark, with a 4-on-4 goal and assists from Lauri Korpikoski and Derek Morris.

@Bill M., Most young d-men struggle for their first few years. People think that just because Drew dominated in only his second year, that JJ and others should do the same. It doesn’t happen that way with d-men. Look at other top draft picks like Bogosian, Hedman, Schenn, Pietrangelo, Erik Johnson. None of those guys are lighting the league on fire.
The Tafoli line!

Helene Elliott said on NHL Live that Dean Lombardi told her that Penner weighed 260 last year when traded to the Kings, and now weighs 242. 242 is still pretty big, but as long as he produces, he can weigh as much as he wants.
That was a very touching video tribute to all of those lost this summer.

@CB14, Dustin Byfuglien 6’5″ 265 probably more.. Still very effective.

Watching stream live now! Glad to see that a tribute went out to all of the lives lost this season, especially those with ties to the NHL. Nice to hear to that fans clapped for the lives of players of other teams.
Hopefully, we can remember the good times these players brought us!!

looks like the young kids are making a statement. and that toffoli kid. talking about a SNIPER. i see our future luc in him.

Was at the game in Phoenix but only saw the first two periods. Not much jump skating wise. Lewis was probably the best forward all night though Kopi has his moments.
The line of Lewis, Moreau, Toffoli was the best line in the first two periods. Toffoli is going to be a good player. Bernier was sharp. The PP was as bad as ever.
Martinez reads were poor in the offensive zone. Mitchell was excellent defensively. What a pro who knows how to play the position in his own zone. Campbell not flashy but effective.
