@Harry, That’s wrong; The suites are midway up, they are below the 300s and the suites are just above the Premier level which are excellent seats. On the glass, no, but certainly not nosebleed.

KC23 Reply:
August 30th, 2011 at 11:55 am
@Player-X, Staples Center is an excellent place to watch hockey. Even the nose bleed are not at all bad. One time I got there early and just for fun tried to find the worst seats in the place and they weren’t at all that bad. The Inglewood Forum had far far worse seats up in the nose bleed.
The Suite seats are excellent. High enough to see the entire ice surface, but still feel close enough to the action. I will say this though, the Ducks have better suites than the Kings.
Chris Reply:
August 30th, 2011 at 1:14 pm
@Player-X, I would venture to add that Staples is an excellent venue and the nose bleeds (my seats when I go) are great seats. You tend to find more “super” fans and can get cheers going pretty good up there, than near the glass. The people are more friendly the higher you go and you meet fans of other teams that you can have an indepth conversation about hockey in general.. Not that I would pass up Premier level, just think there are better fans at the 300′s
Got my tickets. See you all there!

This will be my first time going to any of the Suite Games (will be at both). It’s a great season for my first Suite Game since this is also the season I begin my quest to see a game at each of the the 30 NHL venues. It will take me several seasons to complete. First up is Maple Leaf Gardens on November 5th to see the Leafs get humbled by the Stanley Cup Champs, the Boston Bruins.

@Forum Gold,
Thank you so much for this information. I will definitely check it out. Mr. Delsol was a LOT more ambitious than I am. My journey to all of the NHL venues is anticipated to take at least five, but probably seven seasons to complete. One of the reasons is my wife will be sharing this adventure with me but she is a Los Angeles born and raised lady. She has no desire to be at any cold country arena in the dead of winter. So most seasons we will hit the cold country venues in the first six weeks of the season. I will do the Coyotes this season while they are still close by in Arizona.

Whew! I was FINALLY able get thru and get Colorado tix first, then I FINALLY got my Detroit tix. Boy, got a little “panic face” going for a minute or 60!!! I remember how fast these suites sell out, and I imagine they are doing that today!
My brother will accompany me to the Detroit suite, and both my girlfriend and brother are joining me for the Colorado suite!
In all the fervor, I don’t want to forget to thank Frank and Larry, along with The Hammer, for making this all available. I would not normally be able to afford the chance to be in a suite to watch the boys play, along with meeting the bloggers here. I am stoked, especially to see the boys this season! Both are easy to talk to and engaging. It’s pretty informal except when we went down to the ice which they were very strict about. In the Suite though its almost like going to someone’s house with who is having a sports event party. Every one roaming around picking up conversations here and there.
Don’t follow around puck73 though, you’ll get worn out trying to keep up. He is quite the social butterfly and knows and talks to just about everyone.

1. Before the game we got to go down on the ice and shot pucks in the net. Definately a cool perspective seeing Staples from out on the ice. WOW
2. Chatting with Rich and Heidi.. ‘ nuff said.
3. The fact the Luc stopped by the suite was… well, sweet!
4. Having my kids text me that they saw me on TV during the intermission report from the suite was pretty neat.

@Kingsfanone, Coupla reasons. One is I have an in-law who is very sick and we just do not know if/when he will pass. I’d have to leave the country to help & attend the funeral. Appreciate you asking though. I just might be able to send the jersey to Waves. I’ll try to reach him so he can possibly take it (If he can handle its power, it leaves me weak after a suite night). If something changes and Juraj Mikus wants me to go, It’ll happen.
It has its legend growing. It has been in some pretty good hands as seen in the pictures, so I gotta take care of it. Of course, none more epic than this one:

I think it is above Premier section six directly in line with the tunnel that leads from the Kings bench to the locker room. Actually, when I purchased the tickets, all I could think of was being able to go to a Kings game at Staples with my son and enjoy the camaraderie of other serious Kings fans. That, and I was also thinking we should have a contest to name someone “Puck74,” “Jess Jr.,” “WavesinWater,” and “Dominuck.” See you at the game!!

1) The lack of tradition being built around the logo which virtually all great organizations have.
2) Clearly the logo change is preceived to be based solely on a money grab. I know that is what I think it is.

Hate the Raiders by default(division rival) but i am not a fan of any team that has left LA regardless of whether they were in another City first (Raiders, Chargers, Rams, Ect). Him beating DD for that goal made a world of difference in that series.

Took my then 3-year-old daughter to her first game 16 years ago (sorry, we had free tickets to a Shmucks game from her aunt and uncle). A quick word of advice – get her used to a loud foghorn and people suddenly jumping up and yelling. She of course had no clue as to what had just happened and each time a team scored, it scared her almost to death (with a few tears). Now she shows up at Staples (or the Pond when the Kings play there), wearing her Kings jersey and fronting off every opposing fan who is obnoxious, afraid of no one and nothing (typical Kings fan). You are a good dad!

Took my twin daughters to the Forum when the Kings wore the White sweaters with the Bow Tie, and the Red Wings were dressed all in Red. They were 4 at the time. As I recall, we won that game 5-1. First Kings goal, the girls were a little upset with all the noise. After explaining that the sound they hear comes “right after our team scores”. By Goal #3, they were screaming themselves, and waving their hands. 4 seemed to be the right age for them to enjoy the Kings!

I agree that a suite game is great for kids, but I must interject, you MUST keep your eyes on the child AT ALL TIMES! The kid that fell out of the suite at the Lakers game & died probably, and I don’t know this as fact, probably wasn’t being watched carefully enough. The suite “railing” is not a full enclosure, and I’m just saying if you can’t live with the results, make the proper decisions beforehand.
As an event suitable for kids, I have to agree with Frank tho, the ease of moving around is great kid friendly atmosphere.

I think he should go back to Dallas or even Minnesota Wild to finish off his career they way it started…sort of. But without a doubt, Modano is one of the remaining players in the league that i respect the most.

@Weasel, fair enough…
It was just such an absurd start to his tenure as a King. Scored in his first or second game, and then he disappears for the next TWENTY games. Completely unacceptable @ $4.25/per

Hey, I’m not saying I was happy with the results. I’m just saying that it is premature to write him off completely. Now if he has 4 goals at the all star break we can lynch him them.
I hope there are still suite tickets available for the Detroit game when I get paid in 2 weeks. I would really like to take my wife and son to this game.

@Harry, lets all hope the DD deal gets done before camp starts.
as far as the fraser situation goes, our roster is pretty much set. Where does he fit in even if healthy. I assume all it means is he is placed on injured reserve until he heals and then is bought out right? how does that really effect the Kings besides from a monetary standpoint. maybe it limits the number of contracts the kings can have or maybe its the fact it contributes to the cap and leaves less wiggle room for DL? Does this make sense?

@tornado12, I think the biggest issue is Fraser is not eligible to be bought out or moved while injured. I’m pretty sure DL never planned on dressing him in a Kings jersey. Hey are traveling down for Frozen Fury? It would be good to meet another Kings fan stuck in Sharks Territory

Link to the interview with Anze Kopitar for slovenian TV web page:
http://www.rtvslo.si/sport/hokej/zdravi-kopitar-si-zeli-s-kralji-poseci-se-visje/265245
some translated statements from him:
About training:
Over the summer there was little new. Many of the training and almost no holidays. We train the same as last year, maybe more. Preparations were optimal, hopefully it will also ‘bosses’ thinking so that I’m ready. I think I am well prepared.
About injury:
Inyury is fine. Leg no longer hurt me. Some training had to be adjusted, but otherwise everything was planned or even better. I was in a contact with physiotherapists and doctors who operated on me. Everything went as planned, all I can work more rapidly than they expected. The skates are a little uncomfortable because the ankle is still swollen, problems in the area of injury is not what is most important.
About club plans:
Given the objectives, there is no mystery. First, we need to come to the playoffs. This is the first goal and we must start well, because the important points will also be from the beginning of the season. We must be constant in all 82 games. We want however to get beyond the first round. Twice we were already in the first round and we want to go deeper in playoffs.
About the possible trade:
This does not have the impact, but given that I have a five-year contract, I think that this will not happen. In Los Angeles I feel very good, so do not think about the exchange of the club. Los Angeles is my second or quite a first home. ”
About start of the season in Europe:
“Once we’ve been in Europe, we all know it will be very crowded. Schedule will be severe, five matches at home and then in Europe, two in two days. Will be beautiful experience, I wasn’t in Sweden since I last played there so I can not wait to start the game. “

Dude, we get it. You hate the Raiders, You hate the Raiders, you hate the Raiders. Please, come up with a different take as to why you dislike the new jerseys (like, I hate the state of New Jersey). Please, we will take anything other than “I hate the Raiders.” Heck, I would even listen to a proposal to change the jerseys to the team colors of your favorite NFL team, but you never mention who they are so they must not be a team with a winning history. How about hockey? How about talking about the great team the Kings are putting on the ice this season? How about “I hate the Ducks”? Please?

@DesertKing, I like the new jerseys okay enough. Actually I don’t care much, I just want them to pick one and stick with it. I think I’ll just go back to my ’93 black and silver to wear to games so I will kinda fit in. I think it would have been sweet if they had just made the crown in the logo purple. As long as we get a few years out of them I’ll be happy, and seeing them float under the raised cup would be awesome. By the way, I hate the Raiders (Chargers fan, what are you gonna do?)

It will be covered and will not get anymore attention than it normaly does and will be on par as to what it has been since we moved to Staples.

Thank you for making more suites available for the Detroit game. I was disappointed when 10 minutes into the ticket sale they were sold out (got Colorado tickets though). However, now I’ll be at both LAKingsInsider Suite games and am looking forward to it (especially this season). Kopi seems almost more excited about this season than the fans (which is always a good sign). Looking forward to sharing what may be the best season in Kings history with the fans, players, and staff. CHEERS!!!
