Tuesday development camp notes

The development camp is done for the day — they literally turned out the lights — after two practice sessions and one scrimmage. Recent draft pick Nick Shore scored the only goal in the 40-minute scrimmage and Chris Gibson made a handful of nice stops.

Dean Lombardi also chatted about a handful of topics. Discussions are ongoing with Drew Doughty’s agent, but nothing seems imminent. The Kings’ attempt to get some compensation from Edmonton, following the disputed Smyth-Fraser trade, might have some resolution soon.

Dustin Penner also took in some of the camp from rinkside. He’s been reporting for workouts at 7:30 a.m. this week and looks noticeably trimmer since the end of the season. More on all this, and more, to come…
