It’s almost draft time

It’s a bit of an odd day. The first round of the NHL Draft is today (4 p.m. Pacific time on Versus) but the Kings don’t have a pick until tomorrow, and the biggest topic remains the aftermath of the Mike Richards trade (the Kings announced today that they have sold 154 season seats since the trade) and the inevitability of Ryan Smyth’s departure (TSN and other outlets have both Edmonton and Calgary mulling options today). Still, the importance that Dean Lombardi places on the draft is well-known, so you can click here for a list of top prospects, and click below for a series of video interviews with members of the Kings’ scouting staff.
