Sharks 2, Kings 1

The Sharks got the lead back with 3:08 remaining in the second period. Joe Pavelski won the puck in the corner of the Kings’ zone, then found Jason Demers, who pinched down into the play. The Kings lost coverage on Demers, who beat Quick with a sharp wrist shot to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead.

    3rd period is going to be cagey. Kings know what is at stake and will play their hearts out.

    I think we can win this too……. we have to stop the sustained pressure in our end for that to happen though. We look horrible in the defensive zone.

    i am totally ok with how LA is playing…Quicker is better when facing lots of shots, that’s a given. on the 2nd goal maybe simmonds could have had him, not sure. but not much can be done about that. just keep the puck moving and get it deep, work the cycle. niemi is their downfall.

    again…versus is still so biased against LA it’s unreal.

    Steven Jaime Reply:

    @Newf, yeah versus disgusts me. Almost as bad as the amount of shots LA is giving up. Actually it is more the quality of shots being given up more than the number.

    Newf Reply:

    @Steven Jaime, exactly. we’re not really giving up quality shots (with the exception of the Demers goal) so we should be good, if we can capitalize on their mistakes.

    i’m expecting a high energy 3rd period from LA.

    @Newf, maybe because we have the slowest team in the playoffs…have you seen the other games? We may have had a chance against nashville but hopefully dl will get a clue and get some speed into the lineup next year. Season over!

    @linny,

    not saying season over yet, but absolutely agree w you about DL getting the hint…. and it’s way more than a hint….. not nearly enough speed or skill up front.

    parse blew it on the coverage. add that to his giveaway = why is he playing? also, smyth blew a wide-open finish. this one’s not looking good at all.

    Steven Jaime Reply:

    @imSoNull, ..

    You really cannot blame Smyth for that it is not that easy to elevate the Puck on the backhand.
