Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on not scoring on the five-minute power play…)
BROWN: “We had some good chances before overtime. In overtime, we really didn’t get anything. Maybe it’s just the jitters. I can’t explain how our power play struggled, for lack of a better word, all year. We had some good chances on the 5-on-4 at the end of the game, but we didn’t find a way to put it in the net.”
(on the end of the season…)
BROWN: “Regardless of what everyone else thought about this team going into the playoffs, we believed in this room that we could do something good. Any time a season is ending and you’re not the winning team, it’s a disappointment, but for every guy in here, I don’t think anything other than that everybody was giving their best shot. Playoff series are tough. They were the better team for stretches than we were and they found a way to come out on top. That’s just how it goes.”
(on losing in the first round…)
BROWN: “We had opportunities in this series. We had a 4-0 lead at home in Game 3 and two other OT games and were right there. Like I said, the difference between winning and losing is that small. They found ways to get goals in OT and we didn’t. Right now that’s the difference.”
