Sharks 3, Kings 2

The Kings made it a 3-2 game with 3:56 remaining in the second period. Justin Williams carried the puck into the San Jose zone, up the left side, and sent a cross-ice pass toward Ryan Smyth, who was tied up with Marc-Eduoard Vlasic as he crashed the net. The puck deflected off Vlasic’s stick and into the net, and Williams got credit for the goal. Willie Mitchell picked up an assist.

    @DesertKing,

    Yeah, but I find that sad. A supposed journeyman showing a 30 goal scorer how it’s done? I can’t see the game back here in the east, but the idea of it sounds rather sad. What’s with these guys like Poni Penner and whoever else who seem to have completely forgotten that they once knew how to score goals? I’m delighted they’re putting up a fight, but it seems to be falling on the shoulders of like four or five forwards…. and three of them would essentially be considered the third line. Guess that shows who has heart and who could use an injection.

    @number 6, Funny, I was just thinking how sad it was that Richardson sat all year in favor of . . . oh, never mind. Richie is tenacious out there. Bringing the best out of Clifford and Simmonds.

    Coach calls Timeout.
    Coach yells at team.
    Team kicks it up a gear.
    2 Goals and a forced power play.

    I rest my case.
