Scuderi postgame quotes

Rob Scuderi’s postgame thoughts…

(on when the game got away…)
SCUDERI: “I just thought it was the first 10 minutes of the second period. We got the goal right away. That’s great, but I thought after that we had a lot of immaturity in our game, not doing the same things that we did in the first two games and the first period of this game. Eventually it comes back to bite us.”

(on the second-period breakdown…)
SCUDERI: “They score one, they score two, OK. They’re the No. 2 seed in the West. It’s not like they were going to roll over for us. A couple of the goals, I thought they worked hard for and they made plays on, but considering there were six on the night, I think at least three we really did to ourselves. Certainly when they got the fourth one, I thought we definitely had a lot of panic in our game, and it usually goes south from there.”

I know what Rob is really trying to say…..

(on when the game go away)
“bla bla bla…. Dustin Penner is a liability”

    (on the second-peroid breakdown)
“bla bla bla….we should of called a Timeout in the 2nd period”

The plane has crashed… Better luck for next season. However, the Kings already did beat my expectations, I had em gone for a sweep, so at least we won one game. this game just makes me sick all over.

I hope Scuds speaks up in the locker room about the conduct of the young guys in Pittsburgh during their Cup run. I think they could use that kind of pep talk from a winning vet like Rob right now.

Yeah, Way before the 4th goal was scored i couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Immaturity is the right word. I thought they might somehow get the puck out, but it went on for what seemed an eternity. Puck ended up in the net and then I totally agree with Scuderi….. you could completely feel it go south from there.
If they have the gumption to come back and win Game 4 after that I’ll be surprised, but who knows?

  8. His quotes are spot on. This team doesn’t know how to finish yet. Still a young team. I really hope the crowd brings this same atmosphere Thurs. This team has bounced back all year.

    thustable Reply:

@Ryan, What on earth would that’ve done? Can’t fight without a willing participant and the Sharks were busy scoring to bother with a fight.

    [Reply]

    Cynic Reply:

@hipcheck, Only if Zeus can play and take over for Kompon. That has needed to happen for a while now.

I’d be good for John Stevens switching positions with Terry Murray at this point.

quick is a joke… hot cold, hot cold… tm wake up and put bernier in net. all i know is that quick better be traded next season or im not going to any more games period.

    [Reply]

    thustable Reply:

@jofa6000, Don’t know what you were watching, it was defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown. Bernier is a smaller goalie and would not of made a difference with those constant tap-ins.

    [Reply]

    Cynic Reply:

@jofa6000, Quick had nothing to do with any of those goals. Luongo would have let all of those in with the way the D- played in front of him tonight.

    Not Quick’s fault.

    [Reply]

    KingsFanFTW Reply:

@jofa6000, how can u blame Quick for this lost ok yea he let in 6 goals come on where was the D sleeping on the Job

where Was TM when they were catching up he should of call a Timeout but he didnt he chose to watch the Kings choke like always

Not Quick fault when he facing 2 to 3 players at a time

I like Bernier but he wouldnt stop those pucks either

i like both of our goalies cant just trade one of them cause the team failed to win this game come on make no sense

I agree on firing TM tho

    [Reply]

    Slim Reply:

@jofa6000, I’m sorry you have to give Quick some of the blame tonight..
He wasn’t great like he can be.. Enough blaming everybody but Quick..

    [Reply]

    Cynic Reply:

@Slim, I just cannot agree with this. If you can stomach it, watch all the goals again. There is NO way he could have stopped ANY of those from the angles and positions they were shot from. Cross ice feed one timers, 2-3 guys in front of him, short side after a puck hits his own guy from close range…

I’m all for reality and telling it like it is, and I am. Quick honestly had no part in letting those goals in. They were all mostly bad d- positioning and a bad break. Yes it’s hard to believe with 6 goals being scored against, but it’s true. Watch the replay.

@Cynic, a cone would do much better than quick… that kis is hot and cold but never great.

in the last 43 minutes (after they pulled their goalie) we got 12 shots on goal & were outscored 6-1….

    pathetic?

@dahack11, True. What bad goal did Quick give up? We stopped doing the things that gave us the lead in the first place. Gotta bring it Thurs.

  17. thustable says:

NHL Network called out the Kings as young and inexperienced, called it the Fiasco at Figueroa. Can’t see us coming back from this. I hope Penner won’t be with the team next year.

At this point I have to say this is the worst game in kings playoff history. I will just watch Detroit, they do not fall apart like this in the playoffs. Missing outlet top goal scorer tonight was not the issue. Too much for us to overcome, better luck next year. Tricking kings!

    Bkrs-Bud Reply:

  21. Carol Vadnais says:

They were totally dominated for the last 40 minutes of the game and deserved their fate. Why TM refuses to use timeouts is anyone’s guess or why he will go to his grave with Quick as his goalie under any circumstance is beyond me.

    [Reply]

    The Batman Reply:

@Carol Vadnais, honestly though, which goal was exclusively a gimme by quick? like 4 of the goals he had no chance on.

    [Reply]

  22. thustable says:

Not sure what a timeout would’ve done. Its just symbolic (unless used to refresh players when they ice the puck). They have enough tv timeouts and enough discussion on the bench.

  24. smoKING gun says:

Ironic that Scuderi gets the locker room interview. I knew it was over when he held onto the puck too long in his own zone then dumped it up the boards to no one instead of making a breakout play. The second the Sharks started coming back the other way I knew Scuderi’s play sealed their fate. Should have never got to that point to begin with. The silver lining to be found is the “band aid” theory. Just rip it off fast and don’t prolong the pain. I would rather them lose to SJ now then to Vancouver later.

I think DD’s inconsistency is a by product of TM’s poor leadership. He should have straightened Drew’s crap out early in the year. He lets Drew have free reign. He is 21 years old, and needs a guidance. He just does whatever he wants and TM keeps putting him on the ice. God I hate that bag of bones (TM).
