Greene postgame quotes

Matt Greene’s postgame thoughts…

(on where the game got away from the Kings…)
GREENE: “The second period. I think the whole thing. They had a great period, and we made some mistakes. We also gave it to them. We gave them that period. I thought they made some good plays, but we did everything we could to help them out there. The third period, I think we felt good. We felt real good there in the third period. We came back and we had a nice period after that. That was a positive. Overtime never really got going, so that’s a tough play, but at the same time, if we would have won this game 4-0, guys would have been happy tonight but you come to the rink tomorrow and it’s a new day. You regroup, you learn what you did good and bad from the last game and you attack Game 4. That’s what we’ve got to do now. It doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, it’s a loss, and it doesn’t matter how we got there. It’s just a loss. We’re down 2-1 in the series. We’ve got to come back and play hard on Thursday and even this thing up.”

(on whether the Kings let up after the 4-0 lead…)
GREENE: “No. We got away from our game. I don’t think we let up. I think the effort was still there. I think we got away from our game, getting pucks in deep and grinding. We’re a grinding team. That’s how we have success. We’re not run-and-gun. We have a lot of skilled guys, but we’re definitely not run-and-gun, especially against a team like that, and that’s what hurt us tonight.”
