Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
BROWN: “We had a good first (period), but it’s the playoffs and we didn’t do the things that made us successful in the first two games and the first period. We didn’t get the puck in deep. We mismanaged the puck and they made some good plays. A lot of it was us not getting the puck deep. So we have only ourselves to blame.”
(on how to clean up the defense…)
BROWN: “Breakdowns like that will happen. Like I said, it’s puck management through the neutral zone, getting pucks in deep on them. That clears a lot of that up. They’re a fast offensive team, and if we give them transition plays, they can find lanes in open areas to get some goals. That’s kind of what happened on that overtime goal. They transitioned it from their end, but it was pretty quick. Like I said, they have good forwards.”
(on trying to overcome this loss…)
BROWN: “It’s a long series. We have Game 4 on Thursday, and we’ve definitely got to look at what happened here in the second (period) and learn from it, because we don’t have the type of team that can take periods off, especially at this time of the year.”
