Sunday practice update; Williams on ice

The Kings had a surprise guest at practice today: Justin Williams. Actually, he was more than just a guest. Williams skated and shot the puck in the latter part of practice. Afterward, Williams said he would have a “strength test” tomorrow on his injured shoulder, to determine the progress of his recovery, but given that he is already on the ice, two weeks into an expected four-week recovery, that’s a clear positive. Williams is wearing a shoulder harness, and there’s no clear indication as to whether he’s ahead of schedule, or when he might return, but more could be known in the coming days.

Otherwise, all was normal at practice. Jonathan Quick will start in goal tomorrow night at San Jose. More notes and quotes to come…
