Matt Greene’s postgame thoughts…
(on his goal…)
GREENE: “Goals are tough to come by this time of year, so you take it any way you can, off skates or whatever. You’re just trying to throw pucks to the net, and you never know what can happen.”
(on getting two points and not giving one to Dallas…)
GREENE: “It’s a huge game. It’s a huge game for us. We want to keep climbing. We want to keep getting points as we’re closing out the year here. Nothing is official, so it’s huge games from here on out. It doesn’t matter what the standings are. Against these guys, they’re always going to be hard games, so it doesn’t matter.”
(on winning defensive-minded games without Kopitar and Williams…)
GREENE: “I think, with Kopi and Willy, that’s still our mindset. Our m.o., our identity, is a good defensive team. Then the offense comes kind of through that. So when you’re missing those big points there, obviously our goal scoring is going to be down, but at the same time, even with them we’re playing the same way. Our offense comes from good responsibility and creating turnovers and being defensively sound.”
