Kopitar out of game

Anze Kopitar had to leave the game with just under four minutes remaining in the second period. Kopitar and Colorado’s Ryan O’Byrne got tied up in the corner, and as Kopitar fell to the ice, he appeared to get his right leg twisted underneath him. Kopitar needed help from trainer Chris Kingsley and teammates to leave the ice and get to the locker room. There will be an update as soon as possible…

    Legs don’t bend like that. It’s not his knee…that’s a broken ankle or leg, easily.

    [Reply]

    LicoriceBiscuit Reply:

    @mrbrett7,

    You know this is going to sound funny, but a broken leg is the best case scenario, truly. Well, minor ankle sprain is actually better, but people have been mentioning ACL or a high ankle sprain, with both of those injuries the recovery time is extensive, but a broken bone, merely slap a cast of it apply some EM therapy and six weeks later your good to go. So I should have said a broken bone is better than … blah blah… CRAP! Hopefully the rest of the guys can rally as a team.

    Time to ask who we can move into that first line center role. I dont think you call someone up to be a first line center. That leaves us with Stoll, Handzus and Lewis. My preference is Zues. He may not have the scoring touch but he is a good responsible two-way center. That lets you bring a call-up into a 3rd or 4th line center role and keep your 2nd or 4th lines mostly intact.

    [Reply]

    Wow looked bad on the replay just after a few people have pointed out the Kings have been fairly lucky when it comes to injuries but this franchise appears to be snake biten. Prior to getting up Kopi rolled over and put his weight on both his knees so I’m speculating it has something to do with his right ankle.

    On a side note Jim Fox is acting as if Kopitar is dead. The telecast reflects how somber the mood is since Kopi left the game.

    @linny, Just like in the movie the hangover I feel someone may be using that dr in ways that are out of their field. Not talking anything away from philosophy and I’m sure your making good money and should be for 10 years of college, but common the YES I am a doctor was pretty classic, (another hangover line) when you know nothing more than anyone else that is not a doctor.

    Also assuming you respone upset just know my dad is a doctor, girlfriend’s dad is a doctor, and my gf is in a phd program in philosophy. (I’m not a doctor and know nothing about the medical field) Once again don’t disrespect your profession just not a knee doctor and YES Kopitar had a really bad ankle, acl, knee injury, not sure, but it did look bad.
