Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on getting two points after allowing the late regulation goal…)
QUICK: “Obviously that’s what we’re trying to do every time out. It’s unfortunate, the way we finished up regulation. Obviously we’re trying to make a push, and that’s a team that we want to jump in the standings and try to win the Pacific Division here. They sneak a point out of it, and I think we outplayed them for a majority of the game and we played a solid game as a team. At the end of the day, we got two points and you can’t complain about that.”
(on whether Boyle’s shootout goal should have counted…)
QUICK: “He came in really slow and I just tried to out-wait him and make him make the first move. I don’t know. I was staring at the puck. He found a little hole. I really don’t know if he stopped or not. Tough to tell. But I think, at the end of the day, that’s what the league wants to see. They want to see some creative moves, they want to see some goals. It’s a good approach to the shootout on his part. We won the game, so that’s all that matters.”
(on his shootout success this season…)
QUICK: “We’re in a position where every point means a lot. We’ve got guys scoring goals, and I’m just trying to hold up my end of the bargain.”
Debatable on that goal Quicker.

In the replay it sure looked like it was brought backward a little on the diagonal, the diagonal movement making it harder to discern, but back. Thank the hockey gods we won anyway. It would have sucked to lose yet again by a bad ruling.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, exactly! Replay was clear…dragged backward, puck stopped, stick left the puck! Bad call by refs…

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, I thought he might have, but honestly, I see no way Toronto could have overturned that.

@just my opinion,
Actually it was easy to discern, if you looked at the puck in relationship to the goal line!
Still a good win with JQ maintaining his perfect shootout record.
We need two more points Saturday.
Go Kings, go!

@just my opinion,
I watched the recap on NHL network afterwards, and i don’t know if they just had bad information, but they were saying that what was being reviewed was whether or not quick had touched the puck with his stick.

Keep the hard work Quick be strong

It didn’t look like a good goal to me either. I think the puck had forward motion and Boyle had to bring the puck back as he tried to regain control. Bad call, zebras.

The league needs to take a good hard look at shootout goals
and make some definitive ruling.. Things are murky right now…

Yep, we got the two points, that’s all that matters. Staying in the playoff race. Way to get done Quicker.

@neil, actually, I love the shoot out! But just not so close to playoffs…we def need to stop giving up a point in OT.

@Brent, Only in playoff or elimination games. There is no penalty shoot outs in soccer during there respected regular seasons.

Class act Quicker with your response to Boyle’s goal.

I think Quick is near sighted

@King Doughnuts,
I’m worried you may be right. How soft goals have we seen that originated between the face-off circle and Blue Line, in towards the boards.
Those shots definitely seem to be Quick’s achilles heel.

All I know is that if a Kings scored that goal and they disallowed it, I’d be pissed. I agree with the call by the refs

@tantrum4,
We are the Kings. You can be sure, if the Kings had scored that goal it would have been disallowed.
Let’s go Kings, two more points on Saturday.
Go Kings, go!

Quick is a class act. Inlive his demeanor on and off the ice.

This game would’ve have been stolen by the Sharks, but key saves by Quick “re-stole” the game, yet again!!!
Nice, Quick!!!!!

The save he made on Pavelski on that rebound with about 6 minutes to go was unreal.
