Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
BROWN: “That was a roller coaster there, the last four minutes. We were up, holding a lead, we blow it, get it back and blow it again. It’s tough, but we had some good chances in overtime and took it to a shootout. I thought it was really good, especially after the controversy with the Boyle goal, whether Quickie touched it or not, we didn’t let it get to us and came through with the win.”
(on Jonathan Quick’s shootout success…)
BROWN: “That’s half of it. You look at Stolly, and I don’t know what his percentage is. Ninety percent, or something like that. Quickie has been solid. When he first came up here three years ago, he had a bunch of shootout wins. It’s one of the things he really excels at, on the 1-on-1s. I don’t know what our shootout record, but that’s a lot of huge points. If you take those away from us, we’re not even in contention right now.”
(on the Kings scoring two power-play goals…)
BROWN: “We got one, an ugly goal early, and maybe that’s the spark we needed. The second goal was a play that me and Zeus have been working on. It’s nice to get some power-play goals, and we need to kind of build on that, because coming down the stretch here and into the playoffs, power plays can win you games and win you series. It’s probably one of the more important things for a team.”
Brown you have been working hard, and we have noticed… You deserve to be captain.

Is that too much to ask for 30+ goals by the end of the season, Brownie? Cause I predicted it.

@Slim,
He’s the only one who scored against Anahiem. And before that He got a goal and assist against Nashville. 2 goals tonight. Him and Stoll are the 2 hottest scorers for the Kings right now.

@Dominick, Probably because Kopitar is dragging an anchor called Penner behind him all night long.

Another game where low scoring good to prepare for the playoffs and it looks like smyth finally got some game back we need his production badly and brown a UN natural hat trick . I need shots off the hard stuff too survive these intense games .

@tantrum4, Smyth in a tough spot since Penner came in. For almost the entire season, Smythe was the man screening goalies, now it’s Penner.

@mrbrett7, Smyth got time because Penner was doing a terrible job in front of the net. He was in the vicinity but failed to screen.

Brownie you made us all proud. Keep up the good work. Way go Captain!

Just looked at the numbers. 97 points is the current playoff marker for the Western Conference, while 88 is the marker in the East. That speaks volumes.

It was awesome when hats started flying onto the ice when Brown scored in the shootout…and then the PA guy asked the crowd stop. Haha.

Very strong game by Brown. I was yelling at him, via my tv screen, after the first period that he wasn’t doing enough, wasn’t being a difference maker. Clearly he heard me because he stepped it up in the second and kept it going through the rest of the game.
