Many have asked about the possibility of another blog-reader event before the end of the season. Well, thanks to the thoughts and works of Frank — whom you probably remember as the architect behind the first two successful suite events — there will be a chance for folks to get together and enjoy a game…or two.
The dates are the last two regular-season home games, Wednesday, April 6 and Saturday, April 9, and by design, it’s a little bit of a different setup. Instead of being in a suite, you have the opportunity to purchase tickets in section 108 that are a part of the “VIP Green Room Experience.” That includes a ticket, access to the “green room,” which has complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, water and snacks, access to view the Kings’ player tunnel and a meet-and-greet with Kings alumni. The cost for this is $138 per ticket (including all fees). The link is below, and I’m sure Frank will have his expert eyes on this post, so if you have any questions, please feel free to post them for him. Tickets for both games are available here…
Sounds fun! Thanks for posting this Rich and thanks to Frank for putting this together.
Maybe I’ll come in for this one…………..

This just demonstrates the class organization the Kings are with this special offer by Rich/Frank. Gentlemen great job. Boy there is times I wish I wasn’t sitting in Ayr, Ontario Canada. I would go without hesitation if I could get the flight from Ontario to LA X for the same price.

I bought a ticket to the last one, but unfortunately had a death in the family and couldn’t go. I hope I can make this one, would love to hang out with some insiders.
Thanks Frank for the extra efforts to get some fans together. Hope to see you there.

I’m sorry to hear about that. Puts things into perspective when things like that that transcend the game happen. Watching the Kings in this race should be the least bit stressful, and purely enjoyed.

Well folks there you have it. I,m going to the game, but I bought my tickets earlier today. I won’t be sitting with you guys. I didn’t think that Rich would have this event. So I got online and bought tickets in a different section. I’ll definitly stop by and check you guys out. I am totally bumbed out that I did know about this sooner. I would of jumped on it. I guess I can try and cancel these seats I’ll have to see.

I won’t be able to afford $138, but I will still be at the final home game against the Ducks..
I will be on the ice during one of the Intermissions, competing with 3 other contestants in “Red light, green light,” to try and win a new Toyota SUV.
And I’d be happy to meet up with any of you bloggers and have a beer at some point before, during, or after the game.

@BMSTANG, its a room right next to where the Kings come out of the locker room. If you’ve seen the doors that say “Protect This House” then its a room maybe 15 ft from there. They will have food and beer, wine, sodas, all included in the price. Did it with some friends, and enemies (friggin Duck fans) last Saturday night. Seats aren’t bad, about even with the goal line at the end the Kings defend in the 1st and 3rd periods, lower level. Hope this helps.

@kinginsaltlake, Thanks for recognizing, the seats are okay as long as your higher up in the section, too low and you miss the play against the boards closest to where you’re sitting. My season seats are in 214 which is at the same corner but where the Kings shoot at in the 1st and 3rd periods, and they’re a level higher, so I actually like them better because you don’t lose the view at the boards closest to you. But its cool and a good time, especially worth it if you can trade in the tix you bought. Oh and go hungry, the foods pretty good, go thirsty too, for obvious reasons!!!
DesertKing Reply:

Our seats are in 214 also and you are right about the view. Last season we were in 114 and you definitely see more of the game by moving up to the 200′s.

The kids and I will be there for the final game and Fan Appreciation night, sitting in our normal seats in 214. We have sat in 108 before and you will all have a great time. I don’t know if my nerves can stand the last 9 games but it is going to be a heckuva wild ride. We just need to win 5 of them and it is just enough games to get our PP and offense back on track. Sometimes losing a great player like JW causes other team members to pick up their game since they know they don’t have JW to lean on. PITT hasn’t folded after losing Crosby and Malkin, so I figure we won’t fold either. GKG!

138 dollars, really ? The last event I went to was in the event suites and it was 75 dollars, it had a view, and you got to shoot pucks on the ice. I know this event had the best of intentions but take a good look at the price and consider the financial problems in this state currently and I am pretty sure this event will not be nearly as successful as the suite event..just my opinion.

@puck73, Here here Puck. I would love to go to the game and meet the rest of you bloggers, especially you Puck73, but 138 bucks is way out of my league as well. I went to last night’s game against Calgary with my G.F. and the 2 tickets combined were $134 for the both of us to sit in section 215. She got us the tickets for my B-day, because I certainly couldn’t afford that much for tickets. Hey Rich and Frank, how about an insider’s event for us broke fans. Nothing special, just an organized event that we all could agree too. I work in the construction industry and my owner’s phone hasn’t exactly been ringing off the hook. I’m not complaining because i’m just happy to still have a job. I like that you’re having another event, but it’s just too rich for my blood. Have Fun everyone!

off topic here.
have you guys noticed how the Caps top scoring trio is having an avg season when they actually focus on playing D.they had to change the way they play in order to be successful in the playoffs.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/was/stats
so imagine how our stats would be inflated if we let our guys run wild in the O. As much as i want to see our guys score lots of goals, i would still prefer what murray is doing with our guys. Defense wins championships

@gcheng,
So i was thinking about this, and one reason the Caps started playing a wide open style (before this season) is because it’s more entertaining for the fans (the Thrashers used to do this as well). Not to be self congratulatory but I think for a large portion of the core Kings fan base people want to see wins and strong hockey play….i.e. not just goal scoring for the sake of goals. Really says a lot about the fanbase here being a bit more refined. Now don’t get me wrong, the last few games have been a little bit too thin in terms of goal scoring, but people generally seem to appreciate a style of play that will ultimatley win in the playoffs.

Complimentary beer, snacks AND a Kings game? Hey Rich how bout 1/2 hour on the ice also? That would be sick!

His wife is trying to sell their seats, 3rd row in the corner, for $80 each plus free parking. Face value is 87.50 each I think. Anyway, 2 great seats 3rd row from the glass for $160, game is at 1:00 pm. Anybody know someone who might be interested?”
See my email address above.

What a great deal!
For me to go see the Kings in Edmonton a $100 gets me a nose bleed ticket, $10 a beer, a meet and greet with the usher as he laughs at where my seats are, and a view of the media guys walking to their sky boxes.

OFF TOPIC, but i am taking my nephew to the kings home game saturday against the avs. This will be his 1st professional hockey game. I’ve been a bunch of times, but never have gotten there early enough to see the players during warm up.
Question for you that know: How much time before the game starts is warm up? Can you get down to the glass to watch warm up at staples? Or do you have to have lower section seats to be down there?
I was hoping to take my nephew down to the glass to watch the warm ups up close and maybe even have a chance to get a puck from one of the players…but don’t know if this is even possible…
Thanks for your help!
