Beware the wounded, angry team… The Calgary Flames sit in 10th place in the Western Conference and are coming off a frustrating overtime loss to Anaheim last night. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff was pulled after he allowed three goals in the first six minutes, and then the Flames rallied from a 3-0 deficit, took a 4-3 lead then lost on Corey Perry’s overtime goal. Kiprusoff is scheduled to get the start tonight. The Flames also did some line-combination shifting during last night’s game, so it will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. Here’s the latest on the Flames, courtesy of the Calgary Herald and Calgary Sun, followed by the expected lineups for the Flames and the Kings and the full roster of the Flames…

We have been lucky in bottom half of season on injuries..
Chicago just lost Patrick Sharpe, that would suck if we lost, say
Kopi or Penner or Brown…
Totally off topic, and i posted this back in the jersey poll. What do you guys think of this design for a new Kings jersey?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10214155@N05/5548653400/
I got the idea from a couple of the posts. I originally thought of leaving in some of the gold or purple, but I liked the idea of silver and black.
Back on topic… I like lines 1 and 3, but Smyth and Brown turn over the puck way too much for that slow line to cover up for.

I think you have the right idea. Plain and simple. I do think the emblem should be a little less cluttered so that it is destinguishable from far away. This is an emblem that some fans did. It is something that I think the Kings should consider (doesn’t have to be exactly like this, but something close). http://lakingsnews.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/lak4.png

Ok, if these were my Kings I would use that for the alternate, and this…http://www.flickr.com/photos/10214155@N05/5548653400/ for the home jersey. I know I’m in the minority, but I just don’t like those retro colors. Maybe because I wasn’t a hockey fan when those were current.

@LAPD line, That’s the same sort of concept I did forthat design the Hersey contest a season or two ago that the kings did on facebook. Yeah, so much better than the LA corporation logo. The black and silver colors are great and the jersey lines and layout ate great, that la logo just sucks. I like what you did.
I did one that was a variation of the vintage jersey using the current crown logo too.

I keep calling Smyth out every game, hoping he will make a fool of me by scoring a couple.. no such luck yet for the past 3 weeks. Maybe tonight.
I predict a PP goal or two tonight, with the Kings blowing open a close game in the 3rd. Kings 4-1 with a late ENG. (Yeah, the definition of a Kings ‘blowout’ is a 2-goal lead late.)

Detroit being badly outplayed by Pens in Detroit! They’re having a hard time even getting the puck off the Pens. And that’s the Pens minus Crosby and Malkin – and of course the venerable Matt Cooke. Scary. Scary that the Pens could be that good or that Detroit that poor? I don’t know.

Well, the team’s record against teams playing the quacks the night before has been pretty bad this season (pretty sure it’s under .500). Only thing I can think of is underestimating what your opponent is going to bring, has left in the tank after playing the night before.
If they come out like they did against the quacks last game, then we’ll be fine.
